... good idea, lets release a 3cd version over a flawless 2 cd version, then blame them 4 puting it on 2 cd's as a excuse for releasing it late

Posted by torcher on 11-24-2002 02:05 PM:

go, watch both (preferably on a standalone), think about what you said, and come back.
Since when do you release an action movie over 120min on 2 cds?!

Posted by JoshNya on 11-24-2002 02:26 PM:

I like 2cds better, if I wanted perfection I'll buy the DVD (which I'll probably do anyhow)

Posted by |sw1tch| on 11-24-2002 02:33 PM:

this should be nuked. tdc's is perfect quality. 3 cds is overkill

Posted by Cory on 11-24-2002 02:41 PM:

I didn't see anything really wrong with the TDC version, I actually watched it last night and was very pleased. I'm happy with the 2 cds so I dont gotta get up and change the movie so often, I wish they would have gone into what was wrong with the TDC version...

Posted by AlterEgo on 11-24-2002 03:37 PM:

1st Version was fine

I watched it on a standalone and it looked flawless. I can't imagine it getting much better. Flix would have released this even if the original were on 3 CD's. They would have found another reason to rpoper it.

Posted by Platinum on 11-24-2002 03:48 PM:

yeah gotta agree.. you could also make a 720x576 XSVCD then with 8000kb/s bitrate and put it on 8 cd's

the other one was great and its 1 cd less to download.. this is just a later release.. not a proper

Posted by Ren on 11-24-2002 04:23 PM:

lol

triple x *proper* *samplefix*

how can they bash a group when they cant even get a proper sample out

Principle of SVCD encoding is ... basically you don't try and put more than 45min on an SVCD if you want to fit on 80 min CD especially if there are action scenes with lots of movement... tends to pixelate the video with too much motion/movement in the action scenes if the bitrate is to low... new to all this in general so at least that is my understanding.... please correct me if I'm wrong

Since TDC tried to fit roughly 62 min per cd they had to compromise something to fit all that data on an 80min cd...

Personally from what I saw of CD1 everything stayed sharp and focused as long as the picture was small... if you increased the size of the window or maximized full screen you could start to see pixelation of video in somes of the action scenes.. Gonna have to wait and see what happens when ah take a peak at it on the big screen

Downloaded TCD's version last night and watched it, and I didn't notice a single flaw. I'm sure you won't notice much difference with this 3 CD version.

Posted by djode on 11-24-2002 05:33 PM:

TDC version seems ok but ill prolly get this one

Posted by Coolieman2001 on 11-24-2002 05:42 PM:

How you gonna fit 124 minutes on 2 cds without compramising the video quality. This should never have been released on 2 cds, Flix has every right to proper that release. If your smart you will grab the flix version.

Posted by ewfbootlegga on 11-24-2002 05:53 PM:

I also have the TDC version and can't see anything wrong with it. All you people who keep talking about comprimising something go watch the release and tell me whats comprimised.

Posted by krazyfoo on 11-24-2002 06:11 PM:

stop bitching... its a scene standard for 3 Cds over 120min.. might even be 118 or somethin.. but regardless... its a fine reason for a proper... nothing worth nuking over... and TDC's rls... DID compromise some crutial bitrate by using 2 CDs. noticable to anyone familiar w/ encoding.. u might not want this rls and be perfectly happy w/ TDC's rls.. but dont criticize a perfectly good proper..

/me just hopes FLiX didnt use DVD2SVCD again

As with all things it comes down to what you're happy with...
It's nice to have a 2 cd version that looks very nice... and for those people that feel that satisifies them then it's a nice option..
For those people that want the 3 cd propper then it's there as well My guess is the reason the video looks so nice being how it was encoded was due to the superb film quality that the picutre was original shot on... crystal clear

I rarely post because of all the lamers new who degrade this site. But unless you are watching the TDC version on a 13" black and white monitor you can see plenty of pixelation through out the movie. Much needed proper. But as the previous post says its all about what makes you happy. But if youre reason to keep the TDC version is one 10 cent disc, youre better off downloading the divx off of kazaa next week.

the whole point of movies is to watch them on your TV, unless you have the proper DVD then your going to see pixelation, and even with the DVD your gonna see the pixelation....

if you want a 3cd version download it, but theres nothing wrong with the 2cd version, and if you allready have that no point getting the 3cd

exactly

Posted by opso on 11-25-2002 03:07 AM:

TDC version was good nothing wrong with it a + bein 2cds

Posted by krazyfoo on 11-25-2002 04:19 AM:

once again.. they didnt rls this cuz they give a fuck what ya think

scene standards... call for a 3 cd rls in this movie... and so they did what was the standard.. now stfu

and the video on this one is MUCH crisper than the TDC version where many scenes have noticable pixelation..
