Post Best 3 Movies of 2002?

I just wanted to see what movies ppl ejoyed the most for the past year. here is my top 3 I had a hard time picking the 3rd one.

#1 The Pianist -This Movie kicks ass.Should win the Oscar for best movie and Adrien Brody should have no problem wining the oscar for best actor.
#2 Lord of the rings TTT-Very cool Movie loved it awesome special affects.
#3 Gangs of NewYork-I didn't ever think. I would like two movies by titanic boy but I guess I was wrong this movie ownz.
I liked Catch me if you can aswell but its no where as good as this movies.

And the most over rated movie of the year is ChiCago it was good but come on its not that good.

I like alot of other movies but this are just my top three.

What movies did you guys like?

i hate seeing people cliche to 'titanic boy', no offense intended towards yourself. I'm sure the movie wasn't expected to be as big as it was, nor did he expect people to think him gay because of it. Pity to see such a good actor stereotyped because of his casting

I'm still sticking with my low budget, "not-too-commercialized" movies.

1) About Schmidt
2) Chicago

I didn't mean anything by it as a matter a fact from now on since I liked Gangs of new york and Catch me if you can so much I will no longer refer to him as "titanic boy" I will now refer to him as Leonardo DiCaprio. With this two movies alone he changed the way I look at his movies he lost me with the stupid movie he made about the beach or something cant really remember the name but with this two in a row I will be looking out for his next one.

Yes Leo is far removed from being Titanic Boy.... He was great in both films....Getting the Golden Globe nod in Catch Me If You Can..

I thought About Schmidt was that good, especially NDugu

One of Jack's best performances ever I think, I also think his upcoming flick with Adam Sandler will be good, something about anger-management. Comes out in the Spring I think...

Interesting now I'm going to have to check about schmidt out sounds good

Posted by warewulf on 01-10-2003 05:33 PM:

1: The Pianist (Absolutley)

2: About Schmidt (A definative movie on Aging, but funny)

3: Y Tu Mama Tambien (say what you like, thats effective filmmaking)

I would have chosen "Bowling for Columbine" but im not sure if it fits the category.

By the way, I love the top 3 of the year idea. With top tens, im always forced to include movies i didnt like that much.

PS: I know people hate this, but GONY?

Im a projectionist, and ive seen it over and over, and i have to point out that the only things that diddnt go horriblly wrong in that movie were the sets/costumes, coupled with Daniel DAy Lewis's acting.

I think those things saved this from being a complete bomb. The figt scenes were soooooo bad. The extras were so obviously fake fighting that it was laughable, considering how much they spent. The weapons were cool and stuff, but the choreagraphy sucked, they adhered strictly to cliche'd hollywood formulas, and above all, you would expect better dialogue from a director like scorsese.

Especially if the action scenes dont deliver. Anybody can make 100 gallons of fake blood to pour in the streets/snow.

Honestly, Bowling for Columbine was a better action movie.

One time, my cousin Walter got this cat stuck in his ass. True story. He bought it at our local mall so the whole fiasco wound up on the news, it was embarrassing for my relatives and all, but the next week he did it again, different cat, same results, complete with another trip to the emergency room! So I run into him a week later in the mall and he’s buying another cat and I says to ‘em "Jesus Walt, what are you doing? You know your just gonna get this cat stuck up your ass too, why don’t you knock it off?" And he says to me "Brodie, how the hell else am I supposed to get the gerbil out?" My cousin was a weird guy....

Im glad to see the pianist made it onto alot of your guys lists aswell. its good to see that alot of ppl still know a good movie when they see one and not go for the big action flicks all the time.

1. Catch Me If You Can
One of the best, and most enjoyable movies I've ever seen. Maybe not a Best Picture contendor because of the style its made in, but this is still, easily, the best movie I've seen this year.

I don't have a 2 and a 3 yet lol, but I'll work on the rest of the list.

Now, I have to see the Pianist cuz so many of you liked it. I also saw About Schmidt, but it didn't earn a place in my list because it put me in a bad mood. Pretty well done, but this movie didn't do anything for me besides make me feel bad for the main character. To be a great movie to me, I have to want to see it again. And I can say that I NEVER want to see About Schmidt again in my life.

Honorable Mentions:
8 Mile
Changing Lanes
Orange County
Spiderman

Shit, i forgot about this movie. Even though i generally hate Ben Affleck, he's good when he's playing himself(a dick). Like in Mallrats and Boiler Room.

I thought it had a great male aggression message. These two guys just couldnt stop the fucking adrenaline and act rationally.

Fantastic point for a movie to make.

Thanks for reminding me.

1. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (Hands down *Hugs his DVD Screener*)
2. Signs & Red Dragon Tie
3. 8-Mile

Did this in like 30s. I'll proble think of other movies last year.
