Frontpage Comments...

Hey,

Geez, check out the comments on the frontpage... Its nothing but people flaming. Instead of forum moderators, I think you need some comment moderators! Someone should keep these llamas in line. I noticed some posts get deleted, but still...

I'm working on a total site redo.. Comments will have to be approved when i'm done.. if it keeps up i may just take the whole comments section offline.. havent decided yet..

But if you needed to approve the comments, wouldn't that slow down the whole process alot? But I guess your right, there would only be legit/usefull posts.

its either approve comments.. or remove comments all togethor.. so i figure i'll give approve a try for a while.. then if it gets too much of a pain i'll just remove em all togethor..

Sounds good, we wouldn't want to have a site with no comments now would we ?

umm can't the forum be a comment? or maybe under COMMENTS on the front page, beside each movie, there could be a link to start a new forum post on that movie

If you used the forum for comments, you would have a bunch of llamas posting bullshit. I think he should do what he's gonna do, moderate the posts.

actually so far flaming has not gotten that bad...there are some and they are easy to ignore...but it if gets worse it would not be good

heh, i msg'd ya on irc, but incase u miss it, why dont u modify the comments section 2 work with a php forum, I know yer still learning PHP @ the min, but I cant imagine it being that hard, at least then, stupid lamer posts can be modded and deleted from the site

I do read the comments, and I got 2 say I was quite appaled at the comment made 4 bridget jone's diary, If this site is going 2 be spoilt by such racist comments like that, then I wouldent blame X69 1 bit 4 closing it down asap

I LOVE reading comments about the movie! It helps a lot. But I also hate seeing the comments about groups or other stuff. Stick to telling us about the movie and nothin else!

Heres just a suggestion of some rules for the comments section...
- No Flaming
- No Rascism
- No Posts Because You Hate A Group
- No Spamming (advertsing websites, irc channels, etc)
- No Discussion (save it for the forum)
- No Swearing

... Thats just to save you some time, x69, in having to think it up yourself
