Michael Moore's next movie

This thread may have already been done, but w/e. Delete it if you must.
Moore's next movie, as http://www.democratandchronicle.com...ory4_news.shtml reports, will be on Bush and 9/11: Farenheit 911
Here's the snippet:
His next project is guaranteed to be controversial. “I’m making a film called Fahrenheit 911, the temperature at which freedom burns. It’ll be about how Bush is using 9/11 and those 3,000 lost lives as an excuse to move along his own conservative agenda.”

What are your thoughts?

And more information...

This article is from United Press International. Found at: http://www.upi.com/view.cfm?StoryID...28-032440-7289r

LOS ANGELES, March 28 (UPI) -- Filmmaker Michael Moore's next project might be more controversial than his Oscar-winning documentary "Bowling for Columbine."

According to a report in Friday's Daily Variety, Moore is working on a documentary about the "the murky relationship" between former President George Bush and the family of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden. The paper said the movie, "Fahrenheit 911," will suggest that the bin Laden family profited greatly from the association.

Moore's anti-war, anti-Bush Oscar acceptance speech provoked a mixture of cheers and boos at the Academy Awards last Sunday.

In addition to the Best Documentary Oscar, "Bowling for Columbine" also had an extraordinarily robust bottom line. Made for about $3 million, it has grossed nearly $40 million worldwide -- making it one of the most commercially successful documentaries of all time.

Variety reported that Moore is working out a deal with Mel Gibson's production company, Icon Productions, to finance "Fahrenheit 911."

According to Moore, the former president had a business relationship with Osama bin Laden's father, Mohammed bin Laden, a Saudi construction magnate who left $300 million to Osama bin Laden. It has been widely reported that bin Laden used the inheritance to finance global terrorism.

Moore said the bin Laden family was heavily invested in the Carlyle Group, a private global investment firm that the filmmaker said frequently buys failing defense companies and then sells them at a profit. Former President Bush has reportedly served as a senior adviser with the firm.

"The senior Bush kept his ties with the bin Laden family up until two months after Sept. 11," said Moore.

Moore told Variety the primary focus of the new project will be to examine what has happened to the United States since the Sept. 11 terrorist attack. He accused the Bush administration of using a tragic event to push its agenda.

"It (the new project) certainly does deal with the Bush and bin Laden ties," said Moore. "It asks a number of questions that I don't have the answers to yet, but which I intend to find out."

Moore said he expects the new movie to be in U.S. theaters in time for the 2004 presidential election.

While some critics accused Moore of being anti-American for his Oscar speech, Moore told Variety business has been very good for his movie and his best-selling book "Stupid White Men: And Other Sorry Excuses for the State of the Nation."

"I expressed exactly what was in the film and instead of being blacklisted, I've not only gotten a deal to fund 'Fahrenheit 911' but offers on the film after," he said. "Presales on ('Bowling for Columbine's') video release ran ahead of 'Chicago' this week, and my book is returning to the top spot on the New York Times best-seller list."

Moore said the success of his documentary and book reflects majority public support for his political argument.

"It's because the majority of Americans agree with me, see the economy in the toilet and didn't vote for George W," he said. "People are now realizing you can question your government while still caring about the soldiers."

title is interesting, jacked from Farenheit 451, book based on freedom. I'm sure he'll stock if full of gestapo style lies though.

This guy is an idiot who spreads his liberal propoganda like twenty kenedys combined. and oh yeah, Bowling for Columbine sucked and just took advantage of the horrible things that happened to those kids.

“Saddam Hussein is a brutal dictator,” he added, “and I hope he’s removed as soon as possible. But nonviolently.”

This shows that he is a fucking idiot. For 12 years we've given Hussein a chance to straighten up or leave. 12 fucking years! Do you hear me Mikey, your a FUCKING IDIOT SO SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, Candyman. Your kinda right. If he feels that Hussein should have another chance in office, then he's seriously screwed up. But then again, there are people who believe like Moore does. Bowling for Columbine was the highest grossing Documentary, I believe (let's not make this a thread about whether it's a documentary or not) so the guy sells. However, I'm not "anti" anti-war people, either.

???? so for 12 years it was ok he was in Power and suddenly you want him ousted. I wish the truth was that Bush wanted Saddam out of there for the reasons he says. But what about all the other brutal dictators across the world (who are just as bad , if not even worse then Saddam) What about Nigeria. If you dont know whats happening look up on Ken Saro-Wiwa and the Nigerian Government. Then see if you believe what Bush is telling you.

I also belive in that quote by Michael Moore. Bush wants to stop a murderous dictator by killing more civilians. Its allllllllll bullshit and I cant wait for this movie.

ok ok..lets not turn this into a Michael Moore vs George Bush debate..Michael Moore is as liberal as they get so you can assume the movie will be bias

Remember a certain date in September of 2001, of lets see, oh yeah, September 11th?!?!

And what just happen 4 days ago? The Iraqi government puts out a call to all terrorists to come to Iraq and join their fight!! Gee, could it be? Iraq helps terrorists, has connection with terrorists, and was even behind the attack on 911?????

Your probably young, so I'll give you some slack, but please think before you post. Remember, we did not sign a peace agreement with Hussein in 1991, so we were basically under a cease fire for 12 years. We gave Hussein more enough time to straighten up and fly right or get out (ie. follow the stupid U.N. resolutions) and he choose to do neither. Plus, he help the terrorists on 9/11 and we have proof then and more now.

As for killing more civilians, stop watching the fucking main stream (liberal) news channels like CNN. We are not killing civilians left and right. Some are going to die, but this is war, and Hussein is at fault for the things he has done in getting his people killed. Putting rocket launchers next to residental homes, with people in them, is not done by a leader who cares about his people, but rather a sadistic dictator who tortures, maimes, and kills his own.

Mmmm maybe you should see the movie first before giving your gut felt kneejerk reactions.

LMAO!!! I wonder what lies this "Documentary" will have in store.

The crazy thing is... A lot of people believe that what he says is true.

I can't tell you how many time I've gotten "Didn't you see Bowling for Columbine??? And how Americans are???".

I'm Canadian and lived in the US & England, and so many people take his words for truth. All I can say is read this...

FACT OR FICTION???

The funny thing is, with him supporting Nader in the last election, he probably helped Bush get elected. I wonder if he hits himself in the head over that one?

You guys are right, Mr Moore is scum, and since we (Americans)no longer live in a country where people are allowed to speak their minds without fear of retribution he should be fucking deported to Iraq so he can join the Taliban. So should anyone else that disagrees with anything the U.S. government says. America love it or leave it. Something to be proud of

What a shock. Walldude is a disciple of Mike Moore. It's good to see that you refuse to believe the government, but you think that Michael Moore is always telling the truth. Believe he wants you to.....the easily led always do.
