Ok just viewed sample for this dvd-r and the black bar down left handside is still there same as svcd version also mpt fooked the sample up as there is no english audio on sample it's in asian.

video quality is very good but can't comment on audio
will edit post when finished downloading even then i am trusting to luck if the english and subtitled audio is on this dvd-r.

Ok watched full release and stripped the foreign audio out as couldn't switch it,plus if you keep english subtitles you can either have them on at start of film or off you cannot turn them on or off during the film.
Which makes it difficult regarding the scenes based when they are in china.

Personal note i'd recommend staying away from this release just to much to mess about with to get it right i wish i got the svcd version of this now and may still do.

video 8
audio 9(when you can get the bloody english audio to play)
Film 7 kids enjoyed it however i found to be like any other film based on this story just with better special effects and jackie monkey chan in it.

That's the problem with samples. The primary audio stream is played and there is no way of switching to the English. Happened in the Secret Window sample also, French was playing, but the actual movie was English.

It's pretty hard to believe that any retail of this movie is already out... Nice work... Hopefully this isn't a "street corner retail"

re

just put dvd in dvdshrink, wait on it analysing disc then take chinese audio off, then english will be default

Posted by porco556 on 06-21-2004 04:18 PM:

Are you guys with the audio problems just looking at the sample, or do you actually have the full release?

I would assume that once you get the full release, you'd be able to do a language switch somewhere (either in the cheapy menu or during the movie). If not, use IFOedit and strip out just the movie with the English track (of course assuming there is English on the disc of course).

I'll get this release later today... Hard to assume what could be wrong when I didn't get it yet

Posted by kindrid on 06-21-2004 04:54 PM:

once this is burnt and playing in the dvdplayer you cant turn off the chinese audio

Posted by jeex on 06-21-2004 04:58 PM:

strip out the chinese audio & make the english audio the default audio. jeez. it'll take like 20 minutes start to finish.

stripped out all chinese left english get no sound, but taking out the sub audio chinese 3mb x 2 and its then switchable,

i would only comment after getting full releases, as a waste of time makiing your mind up on jpg or sample.

but working fine now

i run it through dvd2one checking english audio and now the audio button works when playing the movie.

makes me wonder why it was released like this ?? english audio is there and you can hear it but it is drowned out by the chinese dubbing.

you cannot turn of the the chinese dubbing during the film or from the menu settings, seems quite odd that mpt didn't sort this, save people time and messing about as small as a problem it may have been to fix.

My original comments were in hope that i was not noticing something on the menu, not because i didn't know of a way to remove the chinese audio !!

i'm confused, so you can get just the english audio and remove the subtitles? i've never done anything like that before

EDIT: nevermind I figured it out, i wish i could find the whole nzb for this thing

Once User-Prohibitions removed, this release is quite good.

9/9/8 good quality considering a TC-labelled release.

Bit of a pain having to take out the Chinese stuff, but when done this is a really nice release!

Nice WS release with decent colour & sound is nice & sharp.

8/8/7

I'm really liking these latest TC's that are coming out as dvdr.
Would love to know what software they are using to make those very professional menu's...
