1 DVD-RW > 3CDs

Nice release from the sample and most of the VOBs; will edit if opinion changes after viewing.

8/9/10.4

the lack of 5.1/dts is a shame, but the fact its in 16x9 is welcome. will leave it a few days before grabbing, as xpd don't exactly have the best history on the "fucking things up" scale.

Guess you never bothered to think where their source came from. Compair the 2. Then STFU

Posted by crob on 07-21-2004 07:19 PM:

Lack of 5.1 or even DTS pretty much kills it....

Posted by Redemption198 on 07-21-2004 07:29 PM:

Yeah the lack of 5.1 doesn't make it as appealing as it should be.

Best one yet though, but not worth another 4gb.

8/7/9

Posted by emulator on 07-22-2004 01:26 AM:

powerdvd says 5.1 english..?

i got the xpd sample .VOB and in the INFO within PowerDVD it says 5.1? so does it have 5.1 or 2.0?
other please check on this and see what i mean
TIA

Stick with the VideoCD 3 disc release/TELECINE (if you have them, if not grab this) - but otherwise i wouldn't waste the time and bandwith. As this release doesn't even have 5.1 and isn't the greatest.

8/8/9

i havent burned this and watched yet, but powerdvd does say it has dolby 5.1

It IS 5.1 sound! How about you actually HAVE the release before you start talking shit. Not the greatest picture but passable. Good release overall.

Video: 7
Sound: 9
Movie: 9

Posted by bigd25x on 07-22-2004 07:38 AM:

does this have 5.1 or not ?

ive been waiting for you all to say theres something wrong with it b4 i donwload lol

Posted by kezm on 07-22-2004 07:59 AM:

YEP DEF 5.1

sony amp says so

Posted by spotfek on 07-22-2004 11:50 AM:

Fair enough if you have not downed the rel yet, but for those who already have it, why do you need to be told by your software dvd player/amp that it has 5.1??? why not try LISTENING to it, its not rocket science to hear if something is 5.1 or not.

Its the same deal when you get someone complaining - I have these 3 releases downloaded for the same movie, can someone tell me which is the best quality so I know which to keep, try LOOKING at it, surely it is better to have the one YOU think is best quality, not someone you dont know!!!!

Is there a menu on this at least?

Posted by vcd fogie on 07-22-2004 04:11 PM:

judging from VOB sample

video - 8
compared to some of the recent telecines (harry potter 3, the day after tomorrow), this one has accurate colors and lighting, but is just *slightly* blurry, meaning the resolution of the objects could be a bit sharper. there is no motion blur, and no problems that i could see in the sample. definetely the best out so far. way better than the alliance rls.

audio - 10
5.1 ownage, sync'd perfectly

movie - 7
meh, i saw it in the theater... not as good as the first. but octo was awesome, theres a wet t-shirt scene with whats-her-slut, and the special effects are pretty stunning. i fucking hate that actor who plays Harry Osborn, he's totally bland / boring and going to ruin the 3rd one.

one very cool thing about the movie is you see a lot of Evil Dead influences (Sam Raimi directed Evil Dead 1, 2, 3 (aka: army of darkness). the evil dead series really setup raimi's style nowadays, and it definetely shows in this movie. seriously, watch evil dead 2 or 3 before watching this rip, you'll notice it too

Damn, never noticed the sound, though i only got the sample, and i usually use BSPlayer for Non DVD Stuff, and i dont have a 5.1 setup on my PC.

Has anyone listened to the whold thing on a proper 5.1 amp, is it a good mix, id maybe consider it if the sound was good.
