-- The Interpreter *READ NFO* *SUBBED* *DIRFIX* - DVD SCR - Correlation (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=61426)

First , props to Correlation , 5 days before it hits theaters here and Correlation releases not a CAM, not a TS .. but a DVDScr !

The sample , looks DVD Source & sounds great , this looks like it has Bad AR or something , squished and almost made me dizzy watching the sample , has a looking downwards look to it.

Has white hardcord'd subs as stated in nfo , takes up 1/4 the screen at most , which doesnt bother me .

Props for the fast release , im gonna wait for the SVCD/DVDR and see if the AR is any better.

No black & white marks , serials , counters noted from sample

*/9/?

Will edit after watching this.

cbr audio , bad AR (640x240) , missing the beggining (no clue how much , as I havent seen this movie before)

Also CD2 has major problems, it gets very glitchy and pixelated super bad , so bad you cant make out the video.

Im going to pass on this and hopefull the SVCD/DVDR will have the beggining, AR will be better & vbr audio.

It's not real right?
It can't be real... it is'nt at theaters wet...

Does someone have an explenation?

Great first rls, cant complain at the speed of this or at the quality really.

Video - is crisp and clear, good colors, most definately a DVD source. As said by IRC_Moviefan has what appears to be bad AR, is pretty damn squished and with a video height of x240 is not too good at all in this aspect.
Spanish subtitiles take up a little less than a 1/4 of the bottom of the screen, is very noticeable, but not so distracting as to truly effect the viewing experience.

Audio - no major problems. Audio is English not Spanish for any ppl wondering.

8/9/*

Total BS about CD2 ....watched the whole thing and if u encode it using the proper software its fine

9/10 release ( would get a 10 if it had no subs)

Posted by rivaldo on 04-18-2005 03:34 PM:

eagle 1 ,please tell us the proper software...i would like to make it look good...thx

Nice widescreen dvdscr, video and audio excellent except for subs based on cd1 - would prefer this than any ts or cam. Problem for me is, I am unable to play cd2 at all, and I have all the proper codec. Anyone else have the same problem and has a solution?

if i encode it , wtf !!! ... i shouldnt have to encode anything , it should be already encoded and ready to burn to watch in standalone when released . Rules are set in place for that reason. Who wants to download a movie and spend hours correcting a grps messup ? ...

You bring up a good point , i know this wasnt xvid but actually encoded with a divx 5.1 codec . CD2 played for me but has *spots* where it was extremly glitchy and pixelated .... codec conflict ? ..

vlc player did it for me

theres some garbage after the end of the movie but it plays fine... not a great movie , video and audio are fine.

9/10/6

the overall quality of the release is under scene standards, with the garbage at the end of cd2 and it not being xvid but divx5, but it's free and very watchable

This was a surprise to see, picture quality good apart
from the AR cant say I mind the subs forget about them
after a while.

Just one question is the audio ok as I have only one channel
think its a doggy sample I've picked up ?

Anyway back to the AR, your right shouldn't have to encode
it again although you could use " MPEG4Modifier " which corrects
it without encoding (not used it my self)

Still I think this might be worthy of a DVD, thought I would post
the AviSynth scrypt for correcting the AR incase others want it.

LanczosResize(720,436,0,0,640,240)
AddBorders(0,70,0,70)

Example top with correction bottom without

There's definitely something wrong with CD2. The last 4-5 minutes is all pixellated garbage. The SFV file checked out, so I'm pretty sure the files are good.

For those who got the whole movie to play -- what version of ffdshow are you using, and what software are you using for playback?

Posted by kap0n3 on 04-18-2005 06:53 PM:

it works good with VLC media player (google it if you want it, its free)

anyway good quality blah blah blah but my question is about the running time, UK theatres seem to say 130min. and this nfo says 90 min.

whats up with that ? would they really cut like 40 minutes for the us rls ? i doubt it

Christ, I figured it out. I was using VLC as well. Anyway:

CD1 = 57:34
CD2 = 51:08

What happens is that the movie ends, and then it goes blank, and then all the garbage starts. So the whole movie's there. Dunno about the 130 min business, but the NFO is wrong -- the movie is about 108 minutes long. I'm not surprised the NFO is wrong -- this group is obviously not into doing anything really right.

At the same time, I'm glad they put this movie out so quickly...

Picture and sound are fine, CD2 plays properly for me, although as mentioned before, there's a load of rubbish at the end, but it is after the movie has finished so I can live with it.
More problematical is the fact that on CD1 the beginning of the movie is missing. It starts just as she goes into a darkened room and overhears talking on the headphones. The light goes on which she quickly switches off, but it's too late as I guess they've seen her listening in. Does anyone know how many minutes into the movie this scene is?

Posted by me-self on 04-18-2005 08:05 PM:

I have only viewed the first cd, look nice, i don't know how it starts but it looks like it is missing the beginning but people say its not, i don't think that the esp subs would bother me that much and it has a little tmd logo in the bottom right for a short period of time.

Sound: 8
Video: (only cd 1) 8
Film: not watched it yet

Ok , it took me 20 mins to fix cd2 without a glitch or pix problem....its divx5/DX50

Use VirtualDub ... 20 minutes later problem solved...perfect working dvd

For a 1st release it is truly excellent and why dont u just have a quick look around too fix things than blame gps for your laziness ....an easy fix

Posted by Rabby on 04-18-2005 11:30 PM:

I agree with eagle 1

Thought I had probs with cd2 due to no sound...
used VirtualDub and viola a perfect copy of cd2

(Although it took a bit longer than 20mins....probably due to my slower machine.
