AUdio xvid help..march of penguins..
I converted my xvid movie with the film machine. I then played it on my computer The audio seems fine but when I play it on my standalone I can hardly hear the sound it seems buzzy and muffled. any ideas?
yep the audio was like that for me on my standalone as well, no idea why though. What standalone you running it on?
I'm running it on a samsung. i then tried on my parents dvd player they have a jvc and it was the same.
it could the VBR MP3 that's causing the issue. Did you encode the video and audio separately for the DVD, or try to do it altogether? Have you re-encoded a lot of XviD's using filmmachine before?
I have done tons of xvid movies with filmmachine. no problems. I had 2 movies a skeleton key and now the penguine movie which are exactly the same problem. how would i resolve this issue?
I like film machine becasue it encodes and converts the film from pal to ntsc without jitters. its a very smooth flowing movie. tmpgenc causes way toom uch jittering.
How canI fix this problem?
I spoke to my friend. he said the movie was recorded in prologic on the rear speakers. If you have a stereo hooked up to your tv it will work but come out of the rear. now if you have a regular tv then your out of luck becasue it doesnt default to the front speakers.
so thats the reason..now we need to figure out how to fix it.
i didnt re encode it, i just played the xvid on my standalone and it had the same fucked up sound, played fine on PC though, i grabbed the hafvcd release instead.
I'll try and grab the hafvcd version ...if its still posted.
thanks
yeah those two movies ar ethe only two i knwo of that are recorded in pro logic where ht efront speakers are ethe back. waht you do it open up tmpg express and run it. it will downsource it to only front speakers. ((\hte program doesnt do surround :P but surprisingly can downsample surround to stereo. really dumb i know ))
can I use tmpgenc plus instead, Im not familair with tmpgenc xpress. I downloaded it and its similar to the tmpgenc plus.
If you dont mind, can you give me a quick run through on how to do it?
thanks
yes you can
ok quick walkthrough.
open tmpg express
start new project
add file
set video mode to progressive.
click ok
go to set output tab
click on the output you want. im in us so mine is ntsc
set it to image 4:3 (( only set it to 6:9 if you actually have a wide screen tv. ))
set it to vbr ((variable bitrate)
clilck ok
click ok again
now set dc componet percision to 10
set video mode to progressive
and set motion serch procdeure to highest
click encode tab
start output
pretty simple. if the file comes out just slightly to big set it to 99% of its capacity (( its on the window wher eit had hte bar ))
Manal, thanks a bunch. I wish everyone could give such a straight foward step by step. I ran it last night well see how it comes out. I usually use the film machine because when i used tmpgenc plus it caused jittery ntsc from pal conversions.
I'll let you know how it came out.
thanks
it didnt work..I followed the directions like you said.
hmm it did not work? what was the exact was teh result you got?
the movie runs smooth and its in letterbox not full screen. the sound seems like the same as I did with the film machine.
do I need the ac3 plug in maybe?
