First let me say... nice fast release. I realize North America is getting this later than other countries, but its a nice release anyhow! no glitches or fast forwards or black and white moments. DVD rip down to the core.

Onto the movie... first, its a lie! They say its based on true events.. fine, go ahead and let people believe that, but to add on the ending and write a recap and claim its true... just disappoints me! Also, the torturing of women went from scary to just disturbing! Movie also took too long to get going. On the other hand... The acting was pretty damn good! Overall i give the movie a 7.5

doomasdayer if your not from australia and never studied or have looked into australian culture and its signifigance to linking this movie then you would have no idea what your talking about, as for now your opinion makes absolutley no sense, so i wouldnt push much further that its not based on actual events when it actually is.

movie - 3 sorry but this movie to me was just terrible when the killer is the man from better homes and gardens (australian lifestyle program) you just cant take the movie serious at all becasue everytime he is trying to be bad i just see a flash back of him tryign to help me fix that woobly chair or build that new bit of furniture hehe

Awesome movie. The gore is nothing new and is pretty limited, it's the suspense that gets ya. Will keep you on the edge of your seat, especially if you are familiar with the area/culture and imagine yourself in their position.

Starts off kinda slow, but kicks ass overall.

I thought the guy playing the killer did a great job. Looks like he had a lot of fun with the role.

Has pixilation all way through movie green splurges on faces ect doesnt detract from movie though
trivia John Jarratt (bad guy) said in an interview he didnt shower through the whole movie to stay in character the other acters stayed away as you would understand

m 7 (very good movie and it's not as violent/gruesome as some critics have said. roger ebert gave this movie a horrible review and he was way off the mark! this movie is scary as hell and was very well made! a must see for indie fans and horror fans in general)

Did anyone have problems playing this on there phillips dvp642 or dlink dsm320 media center? I cant get either to play the video. The dlink jerks around and lags out, and the phillips dvd player says missing codec. That thing usually plays anything too. Anyone got any suggestions?

I am from australia as well, but i must say that this is BASED on true events, it is not a true event, it is based on the Ivan Milat backpacker murders.

I think that prozac133 needs to re-read doomsdayer's post, doomsdayer did not say that it wasn't based on true events, he was merely pointing out that the film's ending says that it is "a true story", when it is based on "true events", slight difference.

Regardless, the films sucks, i was bored from start to finish, it felt like a really cheesy re-enactment, all that it required was "dramatisation" subtitled in at the bottom. But the quality was awesome.

Don't believe the hype!

That was a great x-mas present: right on time! As for the movie:

movie = 7 wasn't scary but suspense was right on point.
