Very decent release, not perfect and anyone expecting perfection, is obviously tripping.
Video on the whole isnt bad, but 187mins plus a 448k 5.1 track is a stretch, added with the fact the video is 16:9, and it does look a tad blocky in scenes, i also noticed some bad interlacing problems, but prob wont be obvious on the TV. Cant find any B/W or messages so far, but i have no patience for scanning through.
Audio is very nice, and helps make up for the visual flaws, and a movie like this needs a good soundtrack.
As a Screener
7/9/?
NFO is a bit childish, obvious that Boozers is full of Teenagers too.
Just noticed while flicking through this, the Special Effects in this are a pile of shite, which is dissapointing considering the expectations i had for it.
not bad at all
187 mins puts the video bitrate below 3000kbps. I have a feeling the original dvdscr was a DVD-9 and this was drastically downsampled even though the nfo says it wasn't.
I'd really like a 2 disc release of this, the movie warrants it.
Looks ok but not great from the sample, but considering the runtime its a cool scr
.
B
9/ 5.1 only reason i want it

WARNING - Skip the first 2 paragraphs if you just want the review of this release. Thank you
First of all Redemption1980 you are number 1 the biggest nit picker I have ever seen, number 2 the most criticizing person I have ever seen and number 3 It's obvious you have never seen a movie with special effects in it ever. and last but not least this movie is great in every way the special effects are state of the art and look amazing. and if you like making fun of release groups maybe you should put your inpatient ass on the line and release us some dvd screeners while your at it. you ungrateful a**whole.
Now while I had to get that off my chest I'm sorry if I offended anyone other then Redemption1980 I'm sorry
For this release I seen the sample and this shit looks amazing Bottom Line
Video - 9(only reason its not 10 is because the video is not untouched)
Audio - 10(perfect)
Movie - 10 (best movie of 2005 besides Episode 3 hands down every other movie that came out was just lame hollywood bullshit.)
And BTW Redemption1980 I believe your the one whos obviously tripping my friend. Get yourself a life.
I also agree that the effects are not top shelf. I saw this in theaters and the special FX are not completely believeable. Something about them is just not there. Especially for the $270M price tag the movie had. Maybe I know that a T-Rex and a giant Ape can't be real
Dunno...
Not saying they are bad, because I can't think of better FX off top of my head (well, Sky Captain was incredible because it was almost 100% effects... But they cheated with the sepia coloring). I just think CG animals and humans are JUST not perfected yet... for any studio.
Ouch, someone hand me a box of tissues. im feeling very teary now
pyroshady, your very defensive of this film, why's that??
Maybe i was a bit harsh with "pile of shite" but the CGI is very average, and the mix between CGI and humans was very bad, and looked too fake to me, considering the budget this had it was dissapointing, and compared to SW ROTS it doesnt hold up well in the special effects department either, and to me isnt a great leap from Jurassic Park which is what, nearly 13 years old.
As for the release group thing, im sick of the childish insults in NFO's, telling people they should die for something so simple is bullshit, and only makes the groups look like hormonal kids.
As for offending me, nope gave me a laugh actually, and by the way, the video on this is untouched apparently.

This release is good, i like it big time, i don't care if you guys judging it by bitrate or DVD9 to DVD5, whocares if it was a VCD or SVCD or Xvid or DivX you guys still say and Judge but this website is about Quality and Quality looks good for SCR DVDR and i still gonig to purchase my dvd when its going to be Retail released....
its free so Enjoy

OK, Please Stop asking for Movies, and Go and find it.

Effects were really good
Has anyone seen the last movie with giant monsters doing battle >I think the only scene of special effects that came off as really cheasy was when she was being chased by the trex and it was running right beside her , Other than that great effect Now why im here
Screener
v= 7 ( have seen much better it would be a great vhs screener though.)
s= 9 Great
M= 7.5 started pretty slow but kept the action up did not seem as long as it was
So.....
First off, let me say that I really dug the hell out of this film...I saw it for the first in the theater on opening night in Burbank and with a hyped crowd, it was the shiznizzle
now....on to this release
V: 8.5 (good but considering the lenght, it's not gonna be perfect)
A: 9 (5.1 for gosh sakes)
M: 9 (yeah it rocked it, see above)
I am not sure who all is ranking these movies. Try burning it and watching it BEFORE ranking it. It looks just fine. Looks like most dvds I watch.
Tele: 42" Inch
Sound: 5 Disc sony 5.1
My take: The movie was really good, albiet a little long. It has some really slow parts to it that seem to drag along.
Video: 9
Audio:8 <---Dts would give it a 10. 2 second lag at the start. Prolly my player though and not the movie itself.
Movie: 7 Again, had too many parts that seemed to drag along.
All in all, its a good rls. Burn it and watch it. Good job to the rls group.
i like this release a lot...... not seen a b/w but it does have the usual scrolling "property of" crap...
9/10/8

These are not downsampled i believe. If i remember rightly, academy screeners are ran on a special dvd player and you cant rip them, so they are capped instead.

All things considered,A pretty good release.length of film takes away from the video(yes..it does get a tad blocky during a couple fast action scenes on my 52 inch T.V Thank God boozers did this and not some other dvd group(you know who you are)

Just checked the sample out and by the looks of it the movie has most probably been compressed from its original format to fit on a standard dvd-5. I wouldnt expect blockynees to appear had the orginal source not been touch. This type of blockyness usally appears when a movie is compressed below 70%. If you look closely at the actors you will also notice some unsual smoothing on them which may have been applied by the application used to shrink the film or may have been the result of some heavy compression on the film. .It would have been better though if the release group had released two version of the movie. one for dvd-5 and the other for dual layer. Either way a very watchable version and a VERY BIG THANKS to boozers for this release that i have been waiting such a long time for. Cheers Guys
