-- Best fighting game? (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=71787)
Best fighting game?
Has anyone played melty blood at the arcade or on the ps2? I never heard of it until it came out on the ps2, It's a jap game, not released here in the states.
If you enjoy 2D fighters this game is a must.
Yesterday me and some friends got together, and we played
MK2 on the ps2 Midway arcade treasures and that was mad fun. I forgot how much fun that game was.
Melty blood game is super fun, awesome 2d fighting game
Virtua Fighter 4 Evo which is kick ass, I love this game, One of the best fighting games ever
We didn't have enough time for SC2 or 3. or DOA 4. Or SF series.
Best 3D fighting game I would have to say VF4 EVO.
Best 2D fighting game I would have to say MK2
dont know that any 3d fighter was good enough to be the best... but because it was the only 3d figher I enjoyed, i'll go With Street Fighter EX2 + alpha... not just a 3d port, new combos were introduced as well as some new super moves (Skullomania!) and characters... I generally dont like the tekkens and soul edge/blade/thingys as they translate into button slapping with little in the combo or skills area...
best 2d fighter was either Street Fighter Alpha 2 (or Street Fighter Zero 2 for you asian types) or Street Fighter III: 2nd Impact, with a strong showing for runner up in the ARCADE version of Killer Instinct... the horrible console ports are not considered eligible for prizes...

SFEX+Alpha was awesome. I liked the one with Blanka in it more though. It's really a shame that he wasn't always in the SF games. He was my favorite character since SF2 the original :{
Honestly, outside of the SF series, Killer Instinct was one of the only other good fighting franchises. RIPTOR WAS A BEAST!
MVSC2!!!!!!!!

Killer instinct? You guys have to be joking, Remember a combo and the fights over, Wheres the real skill there. That was horrible, It's not a real fighter. The only reason people liked it, is because it looked fantastic. That was the only thing the game had going for itself. It still looks really fucking good, but it's still a horrible fighter.
quote:I still prefer a game where you have to have the skill, Try to play Virtua Fighter 4, If you don't know what your doing you'll lose guarenteed. it's not a game with nothing but combos, it's a pure fighting game.

Um, not really. There were combo breakers and such.
However, I should clarify that KI was still NOWHERE close to SF
JFresh, i agree. The good marvel games were the ones with the Street Fighter characters in them though

Melty blood ReAct is for the pc, You won't like it, Trust me. Do you know what fighting games are?
If you get it, it doesn't actually have to install, You'll figure it out, Most of it's in jap.
Melty Blood Re-ACT
Giant Attack mode:
Successfully complete arcade mode. Then highlight the "Arcade Mode" option at the main menu, hold [Shield] and select "Confirm". The character selection screen's background will turn blue to confirm correct code entry. Select a character to battle a giant version of Shiki's stepsister for a random number of rounds.
Alternate stage backgrounds:
Do not use any continues while playing in arcade mode. You will fight Aozaki Aoko after defeating Shiroi Len . Defeat her to unlock the background that you fought her on in versus and training modes.
Fight as White Len and Aoko:
Defeat Aoko with all default characters and complete each of the eight storylines in story mode.
Anyone remember a fighting game on PSX called Tobal 2? 3D fighter, japanese release only (unfortunately). Character design by Akira Toriyama (of Dragon Quest and Dr. Slump fame....and some little heard of anime/manga called Dragonball or something.) Very nice game, lots of characters and very skill based. Only downside was the inclusion of the Fireball option during the fight but aside from that a very deep fighter. You should give it a look up.
*fades back into the shadows to lurk for more years*
Para... Go check out http://www.mugen-infantry.net/index.php
Its a free, customizable, DIY 2D beat-em-up with more characters than you can comprehend. Once you've downloaded it and sat in awe, come back and tell me how cool I am

Killer Instinct (arcade) was awesome. I spent ridiculous amounts of money on that game over a couple summers.
Besides that, Soul Calibur, the original for DC, is excellent, never really got into the ps2 versions.
And Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is also excellent as well as most Street Fighter games.
edit: im going to take your suggestion also and pick up vf4 for ps2 (assuming it is out on ps2).
