Video is nice, colours are good. Audio has a hiss, not noticeable in all scenes. Haven't watched yet but looks good from skimming through the release.

7/7/?

what has scene become. lame is the answer. how many pure cammers are actually out there. we rely on the russians too much and all scene videos are silvers after silvers after silvers. someone go and cap the damn video themselves and release something good.

even though im tired of the silvers the quality is ok, the video is a bit dull but of course with direct audio, which fases out now and then its still nicely put together.

please wake up the scene :>

8/7/6

Video 6 - Parts of the film go quickly in and out of focus with a strobing effect. Animation is extremely choppy for the entire film, pretty bad even for a TS.
Audio 6 - It's a FM Broadcast and has a big static burst at one point with a few fading of signals in the move. Goes out of sync part of the way through and is fixed a minute later.
Movie 4

Decent quality for the video considering its a cam video source, and the audio isn't that good for a direct source, but its not bad either (except for a few parts that are static).
Decent for an early release.

BTW, to those arguing about the source, frigging read the title screen and begining credits, thats no American title lol. Did you guys even WATCH the movie? It sure doesn't look like any asian languages I've seen either (to the guy who suggested singapor).
Looks like Cyrillic to me. Like the reversed R, thats a definate tipoff, not to mention the other letters.

Some of it is due to various crackdowns, but there's a bigger reason.
Its because of some recent arrests of cammers in USA, and the fairly recent (2005 I belive) federal law in USA with 3 years automatic jail sentnance if you do so much as take a screenshot with your cell phone camera.
Also, the law allows gestapo like actions, the theatre operators can now detain and interrogate someone and are immune from any civil or criminal penalties and lawsuits from doing so.

I think MPAA is powerful enough to sneak this kinda stuff in. Stupid lawmakers I dont think even really read laws anymore, its mostly thier staffers. Heck, one famous senator changed his position from being anti RIAA to pro RIAA after a mere $100k public donation from the industry, so senators are not very hard to buy.

Someone explain why qpel could possibly be a bad thing. Unless you're trying to play the movie on a 500Mhz system running win98 it shouldn't be a processor useage issue, and all qpel does is make the picture a bit more sharper. Well, it can anyway.

Anywho, watched the flick. My thoughts.

Video: 7.5: Given the usual quality of MVS releases I was pleasantly surprised by this. The video is a bit flickery, but not enough to be distracting. Some of the "sharp" edges are blurred, though whether this is a cam issue or an encoding issue is not immediately clear. Colors are present but muted; the saturation should have been adjusted a bit first.

Audio: 7: It has a light background hum which almost sounds like background noise from the projector. However, the audio is interrupted in two places with static interference, which would seem to indicate it's captured from an FM broadcast. Except for those two places where the static gets pretty loud you don't notice it after the first few minutes of the film, so it isn't annoying, and even when the static kicks up you can still hear what's going on. It also goes out of sync for about 20-30 seconds, then corrects itself Despite the issues the words are clear, there's no sound clipping and nothing makes your ears bleed. Were it not for the three sync and loud static issues this would be a solid 8.

Movie: 8: It's cute and funny. Very family-friendly, but fortunately not the kind of family friendly that only kids can enjoy. There are a few nagging plot holes and some gags which could have been explained a bit more clearly, but nothing that ruins the film. It's also very British, which is odd because the motion blur seems to indicate that the native framerate is 24fps, i.e. intended primarily for a North American release.
