I think you need a few more decimal places.

Ah well, moving on...

Video 8/10 - Pretty good, and don't expect much better from the R1, if anything at all. Stripped menu+movie... Pretty good, especially for a longer movie such as this one (144 mins).

DVD-R 10/10 - Don't ignore this just because it is not R1. Last R3 I got (The Prestige) I preferred over the R1 release. So I guess you just never know these days. MPT did the best they could with what they had. I didn't look into the navigation stuff or buttons myself yet.

i cant see the R1 being any better then this..most R3 seem to be better at this end anyways .. video is smooth and clear as could be .

10 small menu and 5.1 only

9.5 one of the best of last year along side of Departed

Watched the movie tonight and picture quality was very good seeing that the movie was 2 hours and 20 mins - They (the studio) could have chossen a better looking menu and that might be changed on the R1 / R2 version - but overall a very good release.

V - 9.5

I am a very longtime lurker, but also a 'NOOB'.

I'm assuming the above is because it's an R3?

Posted by dekehead on 02-14-2007 04:25 AM:

This is based on a few random rar's I viewed.

From the looks of them, the release looks solid (Even as a R3)...As porco556 mentioned, lately the R3s being released have been beautifully done. The darker scenes are comparable in quality to the Prestige release. From what I hear, the movie is worth spending a dvd9 on. High action 2hr + movie is bound to have some sort of issue compressed to 3400 average bitrate.

Sound's 5.1 English.. No issues in the samples I viewed.

I'll spare people of decimal pointed scores... How do they possibly help anyway?

All in all a decent release except for the non-compliant ISO label with a space between the title words.

Unbelievable rip. The movie looked incredible for how long it was. It won't get any better than this. Those who are waiting for the R1 are waiting for no reason.
