My first ink, ala monster squad fans -- UPDATED!

So tomorrow morning I'm taking the plunge and getting my first tattoo with two friends of mine also getting their first ones (one is getting her daughters name around her ankle or something, my other friend who recently became a parapalegic after a motorcycle accident and is getting inked up with a motorcycle chain that leads to 'ride or die' on his shoulder or something nuts)

Me, take a look at the avatar, that's what I'm getting on my right arm (coverable by a short sleeve at least for the most part, but I have a feeling this will hardly be the last tat I get). For anyone who doesn't know, that is from a screen cap from my favorite movie of all time, The Monster Squad.

I'm also getting the word 'Gemini' printed kinda underneath it and inbetween the tails to make it have more a dual meaning to me, being my astrological sign and that it is represented as 'the twins' it all kinda falls into place.

Wish me luck all, I'll gladly post pictures and update this thread with more info and such, kinda nervous because I don't know the artist personally but he seems to do good work. Any advice from anyone experienced I would appriciate and feel free to flood this thread with pictures of your own inked work

Why not have your social security number tattooed on instead... Useful if you forget it or you're found dead in a ditch

A friend of mine had the UK equivalent put on - his National Insurance number, coupled with his birth date and topped-off with a nice bar code

get ready for some pain, depending on where you will get it it can be painful, i still have nightmares about the tattoo i have on my foot was insanely painful, but have shoulders and leg and this was ok, good luck and have fun

there are plenty of jailhouse tattoos that have been watered down through the last 10 years or so....the hinge...belly insignias.. spiderwebbed elbos....but the teardrop isnt one of them...if you get one you will be tested for it

shitty news: we changed shops cause none of us were comfortable with the work of the one we were at, new appointment is tuesday night, much happier with this place. My friend who got her daughter's name in the back of her neck in nice calligraphy came out great, they let her go today and we're all real happy with this guy. Will update this thread then ;/
