Question

Am I not allowed to say that a certain release is a telecine and not a telesynch? I tried to do that twice in the 1408 thread and once my post was edited and second time it did not even make it.

Am i breaking some kind of rule?

We have it labeled here as the group released it. I probably deleted/edited your post(s).

We don't want the threads to turn into a shitfest of whether it's either one or the other. The point of the release threads if for your comments on the quality. Comment on the quality and I won't care if you put it "rated as a telesync" or "telecine".

But no comment on quality... then your post is subject to mod play.

I deleted one of the posts for this reason. There was no comment about the quality of the release (which is kinda the purpose of the site).

well I think this is a tc & not a ts to clear & steady picture for a ts

somebody posted that in that thread...i did the same in a post earlier and it was edited out.

I'm guessing, I'm not yet allowed to say its a TC .

It's not really worth moaning about is it? Several mods look after the forums.. some have differing views on what is and what isn't permitted. Moaning about having one post edited rather than just moving on causes us to examine your posts even closer.

We're waaatching youuuuuu!

You should. Might learn something.

But that is cool, i guess its hit and miss what you edit out. I guess this is what it feels like to live in China.

To paraphrase the Late 404

"These forums are not a democracy."

And aWe... your retard post was deleted

Posted by MrEMann on 06-30-2007 04:36 AM:

I deleted one post out of the mod queue. Not sure at this point why, but I'm sure I had a good reason.

Maybe

As for moderation and who gets edited and who don't, we the mods try to catch as many of the offending posts as possible. Due to the number of posts each day, especially for popular releases or threads, it is difficult to read and catch all the offending posts.

There is also the give a shit factor. Some days you just cant win for losing when we, the mods, are around.

Bullshit!

No one sticks closer to the rules than I do but a post I made (actually addressed to you mods) pointing out that an IMDB link was incorrect was deleted while an identical post from a junior member was allowed to stand.

http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.ph...d=77370#newpost

I won't bother in future, I'll just leave you lot wondering why nobody is posting comments on a certain title when they can't even find the movie they want in the first place

Posted by Neversoft on 07-19-2007 02:33 AM:

Easy tiger... Elj's point is we have lots of mods and one guy might edit your post to say "I LOVE RAPE" while another mod lets something far less funny through the mod queue.

We can be random too... I've just been considering editing your post to read "I LOVE RAPE" but resisted

It doesn't bother me that my post was deleted. It bothers me that the IMDB link is still wrong so nobody is sure which movie is being discussed, so nobody grabs it or posts any comments on it. Bandwidth is getting harder to come by (at least where I live) and many of us are not about to use up 5GB of it just on the off-chance of finding a decent movie.

I also checked the posting record of a couple of well-known delete-bots here and found they had practically nothing to say themselves on this site over the years except for a load of off-topic crap. The last time either of them commented on a movie release, VCD was the latest hi-tech. That was also probably the last time either of them had a girlfriend (or a boyfriend).

Posted by Neversoft on 07-19-2007 04:07 AM:

ok... We need an updater or admin to fix that, most mods can't. I'd sort it but I don't have the url for the "updaters" back-end - can one of our wonderful updaters PM it to me and have a blast at fixing the imdb link?

Wasn't me.. if I spot a post reporting an incorrect IMDB link, I usually inform the updaters on the staff channel and get them to correct it.

I'm also trying to get additional permissions to the site to make these various site fixes/updates myself (first job will be to prevent the pages of fucking spam from hitting the mod queue).

Your updaters might want to add this title to the DVDR section:-

Babylon.5.The.Lost.Tales.STV.2007.WS.R1.NTSC.DVDR-JKR

I'm pretty sure it's a scene release?

Is there a page where we can report stuff like this?

Don't you worry about where we spend our time or when was the last time we commented on a film.

It's not our job to review releases, it's our job to keep the site working. You may or may not be referring to me anyway but I tend to comment if I grab a release early and I think people might want to know - but in fairness, when you've had movies "on tap" like many of have for the last decade, grabbing the latest CAM and posting a review of it doesn't float our boat. Nowadays I'll often overlook movies and simply grab them when I can be bothered, not the moment they hit a site.
