Re-makes

Thought I'd start a thread that did'nt involve a fight, ...
What films would you like to see re-made and with which director and lead actors.
For myself I'd like to see the forbidden planet directed by George Lucas, lead role Patrick Stuart. Also Them directed by Pete Jackson staring Tom cruise. I'm a sci fi nut.
No doubt at some point we'll have debbie does dallas starring neversoft as all the Dallas cowboys but i'll let someone else suggest that.

Nice one Para you completely missed the point , even if you were being serious why the fuck would anyone re-make those.there are plenty of good but cheesy films that could do with a makeover, war of the worlds being a good case in point.

Anyone here Careless Whispers by Seether? It's a fucking remake and it's all bad. I think Seether should be shot in the head, all of em.

not so much a remake as they toured with another band (the original group Taurus and song Spirit ) and outright ripped off the entire opening instrumentals and such, something zeppelin did time and time again from blue's guitarists to the yardbirds, entire books have been written about the subject.

Nice to see someone else knows his stuff,point I'm trying to make is that there is hardly anything new under the sun, the last original idea I saw in a film was the sixth sense. Most of the films and to some extent the music (especially so called r&b) these days is just rehashed from old ideas.When was the last time someone made an original thriller , horror or western? I know I'm stumped for an answer.
