yea. can we put up a sticky that tells the fact that a dv cam encoded to svcd will be of much nicer quality than to vcd.

there are very valid reasons for using SVCD w/ cams... and i didnt see many complaining when centrpy was rls' SVCD TS.. which is similar to an svcd cam in the likes of dv footage encoding.

These noobs are taking credit for caming this movie when i had it like 3 days ago on piratedvd.. and u can hear the audience laughing in every scene..

and the one i got has the same bad AR and audio issue..

If it were encoded to VCD then it would also be 2 cds, so either way doesnt matter.... better quality though cause the bitrate is much higher..

First off, the picture would have been much worse as a VCD. SVCD is just capable of coming closer to the quality of the original source. A VCD encode would have tried to encode all those flaws on the original, and would have given you a blocky, blurry mess (the way it usually does.)

If a site allows SVCD telesyncs, it would make sense that they'd allow SVCD cams also. Since the only difference between a TS and a cam is the audio, and since VCDs and SVCDs have the exact same audio quality, they shouldn't mind an SVCD cam.

Does it really matter? You complain about a waste of harddrive space, bandwidth, credits and all that shit. Who the hell has credits? I get the releases within the hour they come out on this site, and I'm not in a special group or anything. They arent hard to get ahold of. And whats 1 gig of space? or two cds?

All you guys just want to bitch about everything. It aint good enough blah blah blah.. Buy a fucking DV cam and release one yourself so I can bitch at the quality, after the hard word you went through to make a vcd..

its funny to see on these how much ppl think they know about something vs what they do actually know. I've been working in the digital media industry for a number of yrs now (namely in encoding) and what ppl write in these forums tickles me...ok for all you wanna be encoders put yer money where yer mouth is n encode, i think we should have encoding championships everyone gets same scource n we vote lollol. rls is ok sound is ok, my wife will watch it and that says alot for me (if my wife will watch it, it has to be good enuff) Just hope someone halfway decent is gonna rls Two Towers (c'mon TCF we're waiting)

People take their time and provide FREE stuff that no one makes you people download and then you sit around and criticize them about it. If you're going to bitch just go to the movies and pay for it like everyone else. Or make your own release group so all the rest of these people can blast you and call your group lame.

im not bitchin cause my dvd player wont play svcd's thats is not the problem at all. the problem is you stupid morons who think just cause its labeled, Whatever.SVCD, then its better than Whatever.VCD. judging by the svcd, the source dosnt look like it was in need of a svcd encode.

and no i didnt bitch about centrpys' SVCD.TS's for 1 simple reason, look at the sample for Life.Or.Something.Like.It.SVCD.TS-Centrpy, i know its old but maybe a screenshot on vcdq will help you understand why this release dont even compare to a few of centrpys releases and it does not warrant a svcd encode.

It would have looked like ass cock encoded to VCD. it was shot with a nice DV cam and encoded into a nice format. no need for VCD except to lose quality.
