This release had subpar quality for TCF. I know that it is a VHS screener, but it seems to me that the video is blurred, especially noticable in the opening credits, where there is text on the screen. I also noticed an audio pop, but I don't know if that was just the sample. Also, it IS fullscreen... which isn't really TCF's fault, but it still makes downloading this release unattractive.

Since I've seen the movie before, i rate this release a 6/7/6

it's true that the pic is a bit soft, i noticed that myself, as well. the thing about judging from opening text (other than that included in the actual film reel) is that it will often be added in on the videotape with no thought given to the rest of the film. so, that first part might not have been interlaced but the rest was, or the fist part could have been a different original framerate, or whatever. deinterlacing filters will make material that hadn't been interlaced in the first place look sort of crappy sometimes.

also, FS stuff is bound to be softer when it's VCD, because the bitrate gets stretched thin when it has to animate the entire screen

I won't mind waiting for the DVD SCR since I enjoyed the TS done by ECO long ago..... Besides...

This movie sucks.......

Good rip though *FS* hehehe

and umm....did someone say this was a HOTEL SCR?......hmmmmmmmmmmm

You can wait for pre-retail, I think DVD scr is unlikely, sure there are more year after year but not that many out of award season

PS: Don't believe retards (f****x) on certain networks seeing DVD screeners everywhere

We're you high when you watched it... maybe it seemed that way when you got up to get your munchies.

First I hesitated to download this since some users said the quality was subpar but I finally gave in and downloaded it last night. The quality was EXCELLENT, as good as you can get on vhs screeners, sound and video (no pops or clicks here). Some of you need to jump out of the dvd screener trance and get back to reality, and fyi... the majority of vhs screeners before the dvd screener seaon hit were FS, no one bitched that they weren't WS before. As for the movie itself, it doesn't do the original justice but it's not a bad film on it's own either. 9/10/7

Very nice

Movie Review: Analyze This was Alright - Alalyze That was Alright plus a lil bit more. I actually loughed out loud and a couple good parts, and the outakes at the end were cheesy enough to be funny. It was a good watch for a screener.

Quality Review: Picture seemed 'soft', but honestly it was an excellent encode imho. You notice it for 2 seconds but after that you would almost swear you were watching the VHS - the colors were very vibrant and clear. The sound was well done, very very low hiss really not even noticeable unless you turn it up VERY load. I dont mind FS at all personally, thats why I bought the big tv, to take advantage of it. Watching it on my 32" I saw a "near" flawless screener, with only a couple things worth nagging about.

9/8/7

(p.s. I barely ever post because I've usually found these forums 90% full of BS. However lately i've been seeing alot more people give actual reviews and rating, and not just say worthless BS. It'll be nice to see useful review posts as a standard.)

Ive only watched CD1 so far but I feel that its a good release. I agree I think we all have gotten to use to the DVD Screeners that have been comming out. The video is a little soft but I have no problem with it.

7.5/8/7.5(so far)

hmmm

well this is quite wierd. When i play the vcd's on my computer they are fine, but when i play them my dvd player, the output is only black and white. i know its not the dvd players settings cause all the other vcd's are fine.

any ideas why it would only be black and white?

cheers

Maybe because your setup only handles PAL stuff and this VCD is NTSC?
