Great quality ,sound and picture good but why spoil it with that awful VXr on the screen??

Posted by Coconut_Monkey on 03-28-2002 11:26 PM:

Does no one read the nfo? Yes, the entire movie has a watermark, it's to cover a serial!

Posted by Coconut_Monkey on 03-28-2002 11:31 PM:

Red face

sorry, double post

great rel.........who cares about the watermark,so long as we get hot releases.
well done vxr

Posted by alienman on 03-29-2002 12:50 AM:

Great quality, all except for the watermark, but i guess it has to be done thanks VXr!

Posted by FrAzZmAN on 03-29-2002 02:35 AM:

The quality of the release is quiet good but the watermark is extreamly annoying, VXR should use the logoremove filter in virtual dub to 'fade' that area' its far less distinctive than a solid block and its no where near as annoying, apart from that can't fault the release except as Div said the audio has been recorded a little high.

yeah, just downloaded the sample... glad i didn't download the whole movie only to find the watermark...

do you have a link to the thread about serials?

Posted by plonk420 on 03-29-2002 03:02 AM:

It is, throughout the ENTIRE movie. I don't know why everyone on this thread is sucking on VXR's balls, but this release isn't THAT great. Encoding is not that great, fair screener. 6/10

The watermark was not to cover up a serial as they stated, it is bullshit -- they did it because they are fucking lame. And I know this for a FACT.

Question

guys why is the watermark such a big deal? it's there for a reason, vxr explained and apologized for it in the .nfo, yet many of you still seem befuddled and confused. if you would rather dl a muddy 2-bit scr from some 'l33t' group then go ahead, but this release is more then sufficient while waiting for the svcd...

Posted by brako on 03-29-2002 09:24 AM:

to answer your question, no, i don't read the nfo since i have no urge to see this movie. i just think it's annoying to have it there. like someone said, just block it out with a black bar... don't tag it.

Exactly what i've been saying, if the serial is a white/black text number on the picture, im sure it could be blurred/mosaiced easily enough, but this would more likely add quite a bit to the encode.. im not sure. depends if they have proper mpeg hardware or not usually, as then u dont have to rely on s/ware to do it.

Heh, if was a logo like that, they could of done some research and used Logoaway for vdub with very effictivly repairs the video using masks...

Ive had great results with it, esp removing the sky sports logo on my personal caps..

Watermarks aren't really a big deal... I mean if they annoy you so bad... well you have a TEG release.

The watermarking by VXr was discussed in the forum of one of their previous releases. i dont think their was a seperate thread.

Sweet release. Just sat down and peeped this. Audio is okay and the picture is nice. I love the fact this isnt in widescreen. Been waiting for a screener for this flick. As for the watermark it's a little in the way but it doesnt bother me. Thanks for this release.

what? so your just annoyed that it has VXr on it? why should they not have VXr on it, plain black or tagged, makes no difference at all.

excellent movie,i really enjoyed it.
ok so the watermark is pretty ugly, but i really don't think it spoils the viewing.after all,you tend to watch the middle of the screen, not the right hand side.

Posted by mrtwist on 04-01-2002 12:08 AM:

Yes the watermark was through the entire movie ... which ruined this release...
