CTP should stop acting like they are something special. I dont know, maybe it is just me, but they dupe releases like they dont give a shit about the scene rules. Yes, I call that arrogance. Now that all these other camming groups are coming up, I think its time CTP stop acting like some spoilt brat and actually obey some rules.
VideoCD's release was fine. In fact, it was much better than this piece of crap CTP put out.
Nuke reason: Dupe VideoCD. simple as that.

I think the VideoCD rls is better. And its not just the angle that is bad on this CTP rls. Its also unsharp/pixelated.

Well said, and exactly what I was thinking.
This isn't Internal, It isn't a Proper. It's a telesync. There's already a TS released. That makes this a dupe, and therefore it should get nuked

The audio's as good as normal but I aint at all happy with the angle

Thank goodness others are starting to state their true feelings about this angle thing instead of just saying that its no big deal. It is a big deal when the whole movie is distorted. My only hope now is that Centrophy is reading these posts and decides to find alternative methods of 'improving' the quality of their releases. Come on guys....we all know you can do better.

Posted by Smurf Boy on 04-14-2003 05:47 PM:

Video - 7 - Nice colors, fairly sharp, angle is not as bad as other releases but overall the video of VideoCD's release is better

Audio - 7 - Somewhat muffled, on par with usual CTP releases

Going to watch videoCD release tomorrow if nothing better comes out.

Damn....

Can't decide who's opinion(s) I agree with more. All have valid points. But generally, I think ctp has gone to shit. The angle has really made for some annoying releases. No, you don't notice much all the time. But on closeups, it's ridiculous.

I tend to think it comes down to what someone else pointed out a little while back on a ctp release (don't remember which one). Everyone started bitching and complaining about the blue tint in their releases. I seem to recall it being a hotter topic than this angle issue. So they've apparently tried to appease those critics by moving in closer for richer, brighter colors. But by doing so, they dicked up the angle, and naturally more of the picture is cropped.

I used to swear by Centropy releases, but have to side with VideoCD on this one. I always preferred waiting for ctp to release their own, even though usually late and well after someone else, because I counted on it being of the best quality. Hope they get it together soon, before they become a thing of the past...

i have to say. I think VideoCD's is better by a tad bit, but I like the CTP sound and more colors. It can go either way. The angle isn't very bad at all on CTP's though.

Posted by J^^ on 04-14-2003 07:12 PM:

i havnt been able to watch some of ctp's rls's with the angle (ie basic) but this one really isnt that bad. if i hadnt already watched the cam i might have picked up the entire thing but judging from the sample its alright. who knows it was a good movie so maybe ill pick it up. but some of ya'll are commin really strong against this when honestly its not that bad. sound is normal centropy sound. 7.5/9/8

I have no tolerance for angles, and i guess whether you can stand it or not is pesonal opinion. I wasnt too keen on the VideoCD version either.

Posted by Neversoft on 04-14-2003 07:46 PM:

A blue tint isn't that bad 'cos I can fix that easily in WinDVD, but short of sitting on the floor in front of my TV with the nose against the screen - I can't do shit about the angle. I've seen the sample of the CTP release and it's on a par with Tears of the Sun, but I'm going for the VideoCD release simply for the reason above.

I'd rather have CTP bring back the blue tint than watch a movie with an angle. The Core's angle wasn't that bad but the rest were.

ya no shit. I was also referring to the other releases they had not just this one. Some of them are quite bad.

Oh my god, centropy, what where you thinking releasing this shit?!?!

Jay Leno filter is right, holy crap!!!

Video - 3, the color was good, but screw that prespective crap!
Audio - 7, sound is decent, too bad about the video
?

3/7/?

What does ctp stand for now, Can't Teleysnc Properly??

And crapper, I had to read your post twice to realize you meant "angle" not "angel" LOL! Made your post seem weird at first!

I agree with the haters.
That angle bullshit is terrible.. I don't care how good the actual quality is, watching a movie like that fucks up the entire experience.

Centropy is getting too comfortable with releasing this shit, and it keeps getting worse.

sound is just above par on this rls. about what we are used to hearing from these guys.
video quality > VideoCD (as far as clarity, lack of pixelation, no tint)

seating - you know it doesnt matter where u end up sitting in a theater because the tallest guy in the world will sit right in front of you. nuff said.

This release isn't that bad at all. You people complain too much.

In some parts yes the chins are big and the angle looks a little weird, but its not that bad. Video is fine and doesn't have that little flicker that VideoCD's does, audio...nothing to complaing about, audio is the same as VideoCDs if not better. Both are good releases...I haven't watched them both in the player yet so can't tell which looks best on the television. However this releases video and audio are fine so stop complaining. I'd just download whichever you come across first, some people may actually prefer SVCD over regular VCD (I'd rather have the VCD though).

Maybe in their next NFO they could address why they don't capture it from the back instead of the front or side or wherever they may be viewing it from. I'm just curious on why they do it up close.

Hey I just think that it should be brought to their attention that not allot of people appreciate the angle.
