Nice to see within the woods anyway - for those people waiting for it to be released via Anchor Bay you're in for a Long wait as theyve stated time and time again they aren't ever gonna be permitted to release it

i wouldn't have said that if it were a new release.. but what the hell it's over 2 decades old... yeah i got afew movies from 1970 maybe i should start releasing them.. the video is shaky and the sound is all fuzzy.. maybe i will become the greatest releaser of all time... Just because you have a tape of something doesn't mean you have to release it... grab the WtW from a Pre-Retail Box Set rip and Release... if not what's the point of releasing shit?

damn, use your brain before criticizing a release. this is part of a horror history, right here. when i told a few friends (who care very little about the scene) that i could get them this they almost shit their pants. if i had told them i could grab them a pre copy of star wars ll i doubt they would've cared in the least. the point is, some have different tastes. show a little respect...

Just because your sources are slowassed, it doesnt't mean that others are like that too.......

Well, I waited until I got the release before I posted a comment, but I just watched it and I have to say I am excited about it and upset at the whole time. If someone told me they were gonna give me a million dollars I would be excited. If I got the million and it was shreeded into small peices I would be pissed. Thats how I felt about this release. The parts where I thought the video had just started to fix itself it would get horrible. it looks like someone pissed on the video pefore the ripped it and than set it on fire. Seriously why not wait and rip it off the upcomming Evil Dead Box set instead of making people excited and than giving them a big pile of shit.

Thats all I have to say about this matter.

First off... this is NOT a screener (obviously).

Copies of this this have been floating around on VHS in trader circles for a long time. I've had one for at least 10 years.

It was supposed to be included in the recently released "Book of the Dead" DVD edition of "Evil Dead" but they dropped it at the last minute.

Alot of ED fans were pissed off by this and, as a result, some guy(s) at this forum...

... worked on capturing, filtering, and cleaning up the crappy looking VHS copy to make a pretty good looking mpeg version that's been on WinMX, etc. for months.

Somebody obviously saw this and decided to release a "screener."

I wonder where their source came from.

I think the admin of this board would 1st have to post the release in order for the rest to vote.
So he would know of this release right?
He would also probably have enough time to download the sample right?
So maybe he can vote right?
So if he can do that, im quite sure there are quite a number of people out there that could have seen it too right?

well my dear if you would have read the nfo it would tell you what the source was... it was a damn vhs tape. and if you allready have a vhs tape like you claim why the hell you wasting your time downloading a vcd...this is the last comment i will make... I Thank all that understand and respect this release... we released this for hardcore horror/evil dead fans.. which i am ...so it did reach its audience and that was our only intention. it is called a screener because there is nothing else to call a vhs rip.. i got my hands on this vhs... saw no one had released it.. and said hell yeah!! and imediately wanted to get it out there on the scene for evil dead fans like myself... I know that the quality is shit. but its an old dirty dusty vhs tape produced some 20 years ago.. you cant expect dvd.and for all you that say that it didnt need to be released because it will be available on the new dvd. i laugh. because that would be true for all releases for they will all be on dvd. so just get out of the scene and wait for dvds on all movies. i love our release and so do others. it is a collectors item. and somebody needed to get it out there to the peeps.. thats what we did.. so for all you that appreciate this release you get a big THANKS from PTP and we promise to keep you pleased.. for all that didnt oh well we dont care about peeps who lie about having stuff and dont know what they are talking about to begin with. SO much love to all that support the scene and once again THANKS from PTP

Their are serious doubts that this film will ever be officially released by Anchor Bay. It was pulled from the DVD release because of a rights issue.

Why bother?

This movie is barely recognizable as anything. If this is all we have to look forward to as a copy of Within the Woods, I hope that Anchor Bay can one day make some sort of deal so that they can officially release this as a part of some "Evil Dead Super Extended Unlimited Limited Edition" DVD that we can enjoy.
