Don't get me wrong. I do appreciate the effort. But 460 meg per cd is not going to give good quality.

oh my dear god. you make me want to bang my forehead against the monitor in frustration. lemme guess... u came from divx ?

I watched the sample and these are my thoughts on it...This time, the sound is better than the video. Compared with the CTP, I'd get this...it doesn't have any funky angle and it's not grainy...however, it is a bit blurry...6.5/7/x

Posted by gokou on 06-20-2003 09:19 PM:

7/7/7

Posted by Neversoft on 06-20-2003 10:11 PM:

Looks fine to me, but personally I don't rate the movie enough to care about this version. The CTP version was good enough to tell that the movie sucked.

Why do so many decent comedy's turn to shit towards the end? I liked sorta Bruce Almighty too, but almost puked when it finished... Tossers!

6/8/4

Looks good for VHS. Btw VCD stands for video cd. It's about equal to a vhs ya know. VHS aren't really that clean to begin with. I almost prefer svcd TS(done right) to screeners since they are often cleaner now adays.

Durrr. Cheers for that, the rest of the forum thanks you for enlightening us. Did you know that "CD" stands for "Compact Disk" and the "S" in SVCD stands for "super"?

Also, the big "M" sign outside your employer's stands for "MacDonalds"

We need to score these rips according to the the source.
Centropy's TS version has better picture.
And they got an 8 on video.

When you rip a vhs. The playback should look almost as good as the original

Lets get real with the scoring

5/6/6

Um, the only person who needs to get real is you my friend (no pun intended, it just sounds catchy). Step back into "reality" for a second and realize that this is a VCD and those familiar with the format would know that compliant VCD's are CBR. With VBR encodes you can fiddle with video bitrate to stretch/decrease the filesize to whatever specified size, however VCD's use a constant video bitrate of 1150kbits. When in comparison to CTP's you have to compare other factors also, VBR MPEG2 vs. CBR MPEG1... dv res vs. analog vhs, sound, ts flicker, amount of image cropping, and angle? Play most SCREENERS on your standalone and you'll see that most do look like the "original" vhs. And already posted by another, GOD help us if TCF didn't know how to encode With schooling newbie completed, back to this release, I'd give it a 7/9/2.

Posted by live2sk8 on 06-21-2003 02:36 AM:

Wow, TCF truly never rests. Just grabbed the sample of this one. I would say it is slightly better than CTP's TS release. Props to TCF on all the recent screeners.

7/7/8

IMO Chris Rock is hilarious.

plenty of good laughs

the reason I might just like it is I live in DC and caught a lot of the location gags
