-- Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines *SVCD* - TELECINE - Replica (http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?threadid=25370)

Posted by parasiticgann on 08-05-2003 04:37 PM:

Has anyone seen the whole rls yet? Just wondering if it goes out of sync like Matrix Reloaded? That was 100% unwatchable because of that.

Sample is good though, 10/9/8

wether its a cam or a telecine it kicks uber ass...

and i mean alot

if its a ts ... then best i have ever seen ... it doesnt have the artifacts we have got used to for a cam .. dark enges.. cropping..dull colors... over exposed light colors.

but as a telecine it has a weird angle (not much ) ... colors are off ... seems yellow ( but remember the jonny english tc ...eh )

i dunno... good enough for now .. and if its a tc man i would love to see more of this

enough said!

russian telecine rip made by russians ,as u see at the site above
,has russian audio and like info says ,this svcd has a diff audio source

to the person who edited my first post to put a IDOT sign in there
please remove it i didnt deserve that ,i deal in whats facts not what people think the source might be from

Ok kindrid if you deal with facts then please show as an URL that tells us how its possible that a TC has an angle. Its a technical fact that its impossble to transfer a reel with an angle. Hell the reel would get f*cked up if it did.

Now go back to yer bedside stories :x

i also think its impossible to get the colors u see here with a cam.. but.. cam or not.. this is an awesome release.

Hmmmm not tryign to argue .. just trying to find reasons

but what about if the scene was shot like that ?....

you dont realy notice the angle on people... cept at the scene where the two cops went round to the guys house and said about a kidnap at the vets .... the bald guy had a crappy shaped head... but maybe he realy does have a crappy shape head..

anyways .. the colors are a bit good for a cam .. and the angle is confusing for it to be a tc ... or maybe it was encoded at teh wrong resolution causing the video to get distorted ?

Posted by MinisterSiniste on 08-05-2003 05:47 PM:

Here's my lame uninformed opinion. Maybe they made a ts from using a cam at the monitor in the booth rather than on the big screen so they could get the bright colors? (as per the russian tc article mentioning the display monitor). In any case this is a rockin copy of one of the best films this year.

This release is is by far the best i've seen. If only every release was as good as this we wouldnt have to waste alot of time downloading poor quility releases and it would be worth waiting on one like this. I'm taking my hat of too you guys for an excellent release. Please.......some more of this!!

I haven't even checked out the sample yet but from looking at the JPEGs all I can say is DAMN. Not sure if I am gonna bother getting it since I have the CTP and TCF versions. But if the sample looks good enough it just might hold me until the retail comes out.

Posted by InSaNeOnE on 08-05-2003 06:17 PM:

Tad grainy, but superb none the less.

I have most of it down, I will maybe edit depending on how it looks during chase scenes ect.... as I have a feeling it may suffer from motion blur

But on the sample

actually i have, its not that hard though to grasp the fact that camming a canvas which is being projected on would never be able to retain the luminance/saturation/contrast/rgb/wl with or without the aid of filters

sure you can remove contrast flickers with deflicker filters, and yea you can restore a certain amount of colour but you can't resolve the wl variants flawlessly without going through each frame (well maybe not that specific but you get the idea) and doing a manual wl and/or histogram correction

oh and keep in mind the luminance would be centred in the middle, getting less as you go out from the "pinpoint" doesn't help either

maybe its a non-consumer cam? i dunno. but it's not a tc for sure.

I give high marks to the video and audio sources, but something must have gone wrong in the encoding because the video is very blocky almost all the time. The avg. video bitrate was only 1845kbps, and it could have been higher.

damnit. see what centropy has made us do!!! now we are all constantly looking for angles. those bastards!!

does it really matter where this release came from? it looks good, sounds good and it pretty damn close to a screener in quality, mad props to replica.

I still haven't made my mind up if it's a TC or TS.

Cofferscuffs, at first you said it's not a cam, then you say it's not a tc. What could it be? Wouldn't have to be one of the two? It's sure as hell not a screener.

I don't really care, it looks good, I will have fun watching this movie again.

just got the sample and it looks great. Almost dvdrip. Great job Replica, you've outdone yourself.

A video pirate, who chose to remain anonymous, said the technology behind the copying process was quite simple. All modern movie theaters' projection rooms have control monitors that display video and sound from the original cinefilm. To get a "roll," one needs to plug this monitor to a computer that would digitize a movie in order to get a DVD-quality copy. The source said this copying process is used by one of the largest Russian pirating studios.

Bring a pc with a tv card to work, get the image, use external audio source to dub the movie and voila a semi-telecine.

Nice quality, 9/9/7

It isn´t a TC , just a damn good TS cuz TC´s haven´t any angle
TC´s are made with a extra mashine which isn´t cheap , so that´s the reason why TC´s are so rare .
Normally Telesync´s are filmed off from a mirror so they could get the whole pic on da cam

but this release is the best telesync i´ve ever seen
too bad that T3 wasn´t so good as T2 :

here's my late post on the release. i wasn't going to post at all but i wanted to make some comments.

for starters, the JPG make the release out to be a little better than it really is. let's face it - the JPG shots look like a real dvdrip. maybe they just look better because they are condensed from full screen down to how small they are on the site.

but anyway, i'm not trashing the release. the release is great. it seems most people agree that it is a TS, and if that's the case, it truly is the best i've ever seen. if it's a TC it's no better than any other TC i've seen. with that the case, i gave it a 10/10. the sound was honestly the best i've ever heard from a non-dvd rip. it is amazing.

great release. i hope we get good releases like this for the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre as well as Freddy vs. Jason !
