you like the plotholeorama that is the shamalayan universe with endings that make you go "what? did they run out of budget? WATER? EVERY LIVING SUBSTANCE IN EXISTANCE REQUIRES WATER THAT MAKES NO SENSE GRRRRR!" but you didn't like blair witch, which in one word was "incredible"?

tsk. kids of today eh

Probably one of the Best ever endings was in The Original The Godfather, where all the mob bosses were killed, and seeing Michael Corleone (Al Pacino) taking over as the new Don Corleone, and with his wife Kaye looking in, as the Bosses close the door. I got chills just seeing this movie.

another that would qualify for a good ending would have to be the Original Friday the 13th, where the heroine had just killed the serial killer, if you remember that was Jasons Mother, Mrs. Voorhees, (played wonderfully by Betsy Palmer), this movie also marked one of Kevin Bacon's earlier movies, and while the heroine was recovering in the boat, a deformed Jason comes out of the Lake to pull her in. The end.

Still if you want great endings, i would have to say it would be the original Lethal Weapon, no, I dont mean where Riggs gives Murtaugh the Bullet, but the final action sequence with Riggs and Gary Busey's character, it was classic, cause if u put those two in a ring for real, they would be evenly matched.

One of the worst endings I would have to comment, and this is in new slap to Mystic Slippers, the second and third installments of Back to the Future.

Part 2---where Marty was fighting with Biff for control of the Sports Almanac, and while doing so, gets the 1980's Doc Brown send back to 1880's and then that express guy deliverying the letter soon after?? whats up with that?? and then to top that, have Marty run back to town, to see the 1950's Doc, who had sent back the Original 1980's Marty Back to the Future. Please, yes i like the movie, but the ending was insulting and horrible.

and BTTF 3--I agree with my son 404, to have that Train come out of no where, after the Dolorean had been destroyed. I know its a movie, but the lesson that most parts were not available til 1950's, and worst yet, to tell Marty and Jennifer that, Doc and Clara (Mary Steenburgen) had two sons named Jules and Verne?? please.

anyways those where my picks. I have more, but too long to mention.

Donnie Darko has a great ending imho

Posted by BirdMnJr on 09-07-2003 11:54 PM:

Some of the best endings are Momento, American Beauty, Usual Suspects, Dirty Pretty Things, and Femme Fatale (The movie sucked, but the enidng was pretty cool). The worst ending ive seen recently (there are so, so many) Gigli, but Swimming Pool and Mulholland Drives endings were pretty screwed up too.

..seems like you shit on a movie because it makes you think too much. Because Vanilla Sky is weird, it's one of the worst movies ever? Uh huh. Sorry, but it's a masterpiece, and it DOES make sense.
Identity had fast turns? Ok, but does that make it a bad movie? Identity kicks ass.

Oh and Blair Witch 2 is an ok movie, it doesn't have the shaky cam, but if you don't like any kind of twists whatsoever, don't waste your time on that one.

...You just opened up the biggest can of worms mother fucker. Ask anyone here, I'll argue the credibility of Signs to the teeth. That movie is extremely well done, blockbuster Sci-Fi-Thriller. The ending of the movie intertwined perfectly with the overal theme of a pre-chosen destiny threw faith in God. The "Signs" showed Graham, a man who lost the faith, that God really WAS still there, and helping threw this Armageddon-esque situation. To say that the alien was poorly done CGI is a bit ridiculous, it looks just as realistic as something out of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, etc. Just because the ending required a bit of intellect and actual thinking doesn't mean its bad. It's not Shyamalan's fault that your a fucking idiot.

EDIT:: I apologize for flaming, but I was angry...

So I run into him a week later in the mall and he’s buying another cat and I says to ‘em "Jesus Walt, what are you doing? You know your just gonna get this cat stuck up your ass too, why don’t you knock it off?" And he says to me "Brodie, how the hell else am I supposed to get the gerbil out?" Lately I've been getting around to see movies that people have said were great. The Thing is I love how the movie is going but then I see the ending and I feel it sucks horribly. Most recently was:
Gangs of New York
Identity

For Gangs the movie was badass it got even better when Amsterdam was starting the battle then you know how it goes and I'm like WTF! they just ruined the movie.

Identity was a good movie but when you first get the general idea of what it really is then I was like damn this movie now sucks.I know most people won't agree with me on this but this is how I feel about it just didn't sit right. It indeed was a very interesting and straying from ordinary ending but not my cup of tea.

Well anyway here's some more pics for best/worst ending/s

Best:
Memento
Clockwork Orange
Godfather
Goodfellas

Worst:
BTTF III(Come on Doc where are you gonna get the 1.21 gigawatts needed for time travel in 1885!!)
Gangs of New York
Planet of the apes(burton trash)
Joy Ride(Hence the 4 alternates on the dvd)
More of course but can't remember

If you want a movie with too many turns watch Basic. That movie didn't make sense at all. All you really had to do was know the plot and then watch the last 10 minutes because the rest of the movie is BS. I mean it makes Identity's twists look small (and plus I didn't think Identity had THAT many twists).

Chasing Amy - With out a doubt, the best ending ever in a movie. Couldn't have been better thought out.

oh god yes. i hated basic, the twists were forced and left open plot holes and then had the retarded happily ever after ending, bad BAD movie.

(told you people either loved or hated vanilla sky lol)

Best ending: The Blair Witch project

Worst ending: 28 days later. How predictably boring.

p.s. Signs is a masterpiece, but not his best work. I really liked Unbreakable. The ending in that one is a good too.

p.p.s. It was never mentioned in Signs that water killed the aliens. It could have been the chlorine in the water, or minerals, or as I like to think...

It was Holy water.

The TV mentioned the solution (not water specifically) being found in the middle east (very holy lands) and Gibson's character was of the sort that would have blessed his well.

Kinda ties in with the whole "found his faith again" symbolism, no?

For a second there before the ending scene, I thought it was fucked, but then it ended perfectly.

Jesus ... someone really better win an award for this shit.

I just watched that too, daaamn. I didn't think THAT highly of the movie as a whole, but that ending was perfect. Sad, but I couldn't see it ending any better.

Definately one of the best of the year.
