i like centropy but why does every release of theirs that is svcd have to be 3 cds? the 2cd vcd screeners by teg are of better quality. centropys releases are still good quality but the blue tint and ar could be better. if centropy themselves would encode/re encode the movie like someone else will do and take out the blue tint and fix the ar their releases would be great instead of good. and as for this movie, quality isnt bad, only seen the sample but it still has the blue tint

watch the movie release before commenting on it

dont make yourselves look dumber then you are

for some of you... that may be a stretch... but at least try it!

Funny I am flashing back to the old centropy releases... back around training day, and Thirteen Ghosts. They had the same issues of the Blue tint. Not sure how they fixed it before, but hopefully they will again. Overall though I like these releases I can deal with the blue for now. It still beats the other releases that have come out lately from other groups. Keep up the good work centropy, but beware the blue.

This release is 2 cds, actually. And teg's screeners are (usually) of better quality because they come from a studio-made video master tape: not from a theater situation, which is far more difficult to do.

If you took the time to read the .nfo files you would have noticed why they are 3cds. "Centropy SVCDs go from 2cds to 3cds at the 113 minute mark" or something to that affect.

Also, you might like to read the sticky about the source types.

No one lately watches full movies, we just like to comment on them and the movie does have a bad orah, as you say. I saw the coemercial and didnt like it from the start.

And FTF releases are not that bad... but centerpy is much better.!

Well the Jpg of this from Centropy looks good, not going to bother DL-ing it, I got FTF's rls and watched it, wasnt any good quality, and Centropy we know most of the time is. But this movie wasnt even worth a second copy to DL. the movie IMO gets a 3 its not even worth a second look at it, really sad.

yes i know. that is kind of my point. the screeners are a better source then the ts's but yet the ts's are being released in svcd. until ctp or anyone gets a camera that will record in the theatres at better quality then vhs tapes, which i dont think is going to happen anytime soon, they should stick with vcd. oh well, they are doing a nice job anyway.

Posted by PenisXX on 05-30-2002 01:26 AM:

picture: angle is annoying at times, too much blue, focus is good. 2 times you see heads, hehe.

sound: first 7 min out of sync, treble changes during whole movie.
all in all, an ok ts, nothing more, nothing less.

Posted by Loony23 on 05-30-2002 01:45 AM:

i think i'll wait for the reencode with less blue

Good point, the higher resolution has been worth it on some of the SVCD TSs, but not all.

I saw this movie in theatres opening night. I will have you know that this is an excellent film. I don't think it is as good as Christopher Nolan's previous works (Following & Memento), but still well worth watching (as most critics would agree). As far as the blue tint is concerned, I have not seen CTP's release, but I will tell you that the whole blueishness is inherent in the movie. I guess Nolan just doesn't want to transition completely from B&W to Color (Following (B&W)=>Memento (Color/B&W)=>Insomnia (Tinted look))...I will have to download MEDiAMANiACS rip of the original Norwegian film to see how the remake stands up

i dunno what all the bitchin is about, concerning bad ar,and blue tint.Maybe some people need to get a better t.v. or dvd player, cos it looks perect on my Sony 32 DPL.
movie is excellent, sound is great,as is the picture.
as for the sync problem,it's only in the first 7 minutes of cd1,then it's ok after that.
stop moaning about ar's,and blue tints, and svcd/vcd.........just download the movie, and remember this........YOU ARE GETTING THIS FOR FREE.
