sucks

yeah this movie is pretty awesome too bad the screener totally sucks. The audio is okay but it still has that loud crackle sound every like 7 minutes during the movie, and cd 2 has much more pixelation then cd 1 and on cd 2 the first 5 minutes has this annoying loud hissing sound. The screeners these days suck and I am thinking of not downloading them at all and just waiting for a dvd screener or a dvd rip, because these damn vhs screeners are making the movies i watch suck. Quality does count! when you are watching a movie and unfortunatly the vhs screeners these days suck big time and ruins the movie in some cases.

nice to still see ppl who can't judge a movie for what it is ... bah, enough said ... if you don't like it, don't download it ... that's great, but keep the dumb shit to yourselves ...

note to others, don't let one opinion prevent you from downloading this release, is mos definately watchable, even with the huge audio fuck up in CD2, there is a large bang in the movie, scared the fuck outta me ...

/end rant

Video was pretty damned good and probably the best I've seen of these OBUS screeners. The audio was just ok due to the frequent "pops". I nearly shat myself during the really loud one in disc 2. Enjoyed the movie quite a bit. There were some really great performances.

Video- 8
Audio- 6
Movie- 8

Great movie. Had no audio problems at all, played perfectly. Although there was 1 loud pop.. But that was it.. Can't complain about that, since it was like something just fell off the tv...

Vid looks slightly washed other than that great release.

I thought the movie was the Sh*T!

I liked this movie, but don't think it's good enough to win any oscars. I thought it was good, but not quite THAT good. I think "Monster" was a much better movie than this. As far as the Obus release quality, as usual, it was good.

Video 8 / Audio 9 / Movie 7.5

Great sound and picture, Great movie in general. No wonder its on the imdb top 250.

Unhappy

This release is S(X)VCD

Note the EXT directory on the disc, this is not compliant with my stand-alone or PowerDVD.

It can be viewed with WMP by opening the AVSEQ01.DAT file in the MPEGAV directory.

Vid quality aint too good on this, may be better on TV but can't even be bothered rigging up my SVHS cable for this.

I wish people would stick to SVCD releases that are complaint with all (or most) stand-alones.

Lightbulb

hear, hear.

First of all, thanks goes to OBUS for even taking the time to release this. From here it goes south.

This would have been a great release on SVCD. I know it was a VHS screener but why downgrade it even more to a VCD? I'd watch a VHS tape over a VCD release with bad sound any day.

It was nice to have it on 2 cd's yes but it was pixilated, not to bad. To much audio compression or something. A high pitched sound randomly, constantly in the background and it would get loud during a scene when the music or action was loud and or happening. I never even finished watching the movie.

Now I'm biased. I only burn SVCD's and author DVD's. My DVD player is biased to Im sure. The whinning wasnt as bad and could hardly be heard when I mounted it and watched it with PowerDVD 5, but the sound volume would go from normal to low at times.

It's the Quality not the Quantity man. Or in this case it would have been fine in the quantity of 3 SVCD's.

Now if all you do is watch VCD's on your computer and dont even have a DVD player then this VCD's for you.

I agree for the most part. The only group that produces good VHS to VCD screeners is TCF.

Posted by teegee420 on 01-14-2004 10:54 PM:

Considering that Eastwood made "Unforgiven" I wasn't surprised at all.

Posted by kurisu on 01-15-2004 08:04 AM:

don't forget white hunter black heart, imho the best movie clintwood ever directed.
