superb

This one is absolutely amazing. As a standalone itself the video and audio is a perfect 10/10.. and comparing it to other releases, it is clearly way better. It is a lot clearer and brighter compared to the diamond release, it has english subtitles. So what if it's 4 CDs, the 1st and 2nd lord of the rings were 4 cds... i don't mind. This is the release to get and no other. Props to CTP.

I really love the quality, NO pixelation or imperfections that I can see on TV. Had a little trouble burning the 2nd disc, I went through 2 CD's before I figured out what was wrong (had to use the RAR file for cue and bin extraction). Best quality I have ever downloaded! Audio is crisp and clear.

anyone know how to merge the movies together so it fits on to one dvdr

Posted by bigmouse64 on 03-09-2004 03:04 PM:

try

using winISO to extract the SVCD files from the .bin and then join the MPeg's with virtualdub

in reply to: mak8 "anyone know how to merge the movies together so it fits on to one dvdr"

merging the files to dvd-r is tricky, but very possible. i did it the other day - use Womble VCR to edit the video files and clip the ends/start of some of the discs (Centropy overlaped the movie, so that if u insert the disc, then it will play the last few seconds that were on the disc before...if u just add them as they are, you will have repeates at the ends of the disc breaks)
once you have the new MPEG-2 files edited through womble VCR, open them in TMPGEnc and encode each CD indevidually as MPEG-2. I used MPEG-2 352x480, 29fps, 2-Pass VBR with MAX:3250kbps, AVEREAGE: 2875kbps and MIN: 0kbps. encode each CD seperatly in this format, then use Merge/Cut in TMPGEnc to merge the CD's ONCE YOU HAVE ENCODED THEM

i did this over a night of encoding. the output file should be around 3.9gig - which is fine, when u author it, the rest of the room will fill up, my dvd is now 4.195 gig (MAX for a DVD is 4.200 gig) and there is seriously BARELY any diff in quality and there is deffinatly NO PIXELTAION in my re-encode for my dvd-r IT's STILL PERFECT

follow my settings and u wont go wrong - if ur confused, post questions and i'll be glad to answer them...that goes for anyone else who is having trouble doing this also

as for how the movie is, its PERFECT - if anyone hasnt downloaded this yet, they should! - it's by far the BEST quality SVCD i have ever seen, Video is flawless with no pixelation at all in any of the high battle scenes (thank god for VBR encoding ) and the audio is nice and crisp - if u are a movie collector, but u dont have a dvd burner/ or the bandwith to get the dvd-r version, this is the version for u

MASSIVE PROPS TO CENTROPY - great to see you back, well dont with this release.

i give it 10/10/100000

loved the trilogy! - pity there wont be any more

For some reason when i burn this, the video speeds up and it's not in sync with the audio? I use nero and I burn it to a regular VCD (dvd player doesn't play SVCD) I let nero encode the file and I burn it at a slow speed. Please help.

If i tried to encode it with TMPGEnc, when I try to open up CD1, it says .MPG file can not open, or unsupported.

10/10/100 - absolute perfect copy. I'm obsessed with LOTR.

king elessar,
you need to run me .mpg's through DVD2AVI before TMPGenc will accpet them. try that, it worked for me - btw, nero is the shitest program ever for encoding vcd's, and it wouldnt have worked at all, because u were trying to burn an MPEG-2 as an MPEG-1, and nero's encoder is the worst ever, slow as hell, with crap as results...stay away from it.

just wondering if anyone else had sync issues. I ran it through tmpgenc to put vcd header on it , but after looking at the source it looks to be a little out of sync, did anyone else demultiplex and multiplex it back together??? just wondering, it looks fantastic!!!
