Version I glimpsed.....

The version I glimpsed posted in the news groups recently didn't look so great. Are there different rips of this screener? It was a screener but was very blocky. Any thoughts?

u cant put fastempire before tcf u must be on drugs. think about it.
fastempire has had 3-4 good rlses. tcf has had 9-12. i mean come on .
u must look at fastempire in the lONG run, u should look at tcf but i think there is more of a chance of fastempre dying than tcf

Is that so... then what about EViLiSO and TWC, those have been around for years. These groups are the tops.

Anyway, good release.
You can't expect it to be perfect.. (talking about the sound that is) because it is just a screener. But it would be nice to have it perfect though!

Thumbs up nice stuff :)

This was an awesome movie (the cast is great), and an AWESOME rip as well. I really like these widescreen ones the best. The quality is awesome (barely any blocks), as well as the audio. Like psilicin said, I wish the Oscars were every month so we could get more of these DAMN NICE DVD Screeners Props to FASTempire.

Posted by rodney on 02-01-2002 05:07 PM:

great release, i didnt notice any blocks like mentioned above and i thought the sound was really good. only bad thing is the watermark that appears like 3 times in the movie. good thing it isnt a big one like the ghosts of mars vhs screener a while back. i hope dvd screeners will start to be that standard now, there is no reason for them not to be. and i love fast empire.

Posted by R_I_P on 02-02-2002 12:56 AM:

Excellent

Give it a 9/10. Great video and sound, puts all other Ocean releases to shame.

Question

Can any of you explain me the diferences between DVDScreener and SVCD? When I am currently downloading Oceans 11 Screener and I want to know if I can burn it in a CD to view it in my DVD player (not DVDRom) Thank you very much

Posted by rudeboyben on 02-26-2002 10:18 PM:

i can answer that the DVD screener is a screening copy of the film for the crittic, it can be on anything but now days its on DVD's. The svcd means super cd this can be played on a stand alone dvd player because it is Mpeg 2, its just bigger 800mb

i hope this answers your question

Posted by Bayag on 02-27-2002 12:29 PM:

Man, I wanna see it too!

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong. (You though a request was coming, right? ;-)

I usually burn the mpeg with Nero so first I extract the mpeg with Isobuster from the bin.
But the AVSEQ1 is impossible to watch. I get a message saying "unsupported format". ...same as you get if you try to play a non complete DivX in MPlayer.

So I try to make a SVCD anyway but when pasting AVSEQ1 into Nero it complains that it's a unrecognized file type.

I'm confused here.... Anyone with a solution?
Btw, Virtual Daemon doesn't play the bin either.

I sence something is missing on my computer. But Monsters Inc and Harry Potter worked fine.
I'm using Win XP if that has something to do with it.

(Moderator, if this is the wrong forum I'm sorry. Hope not

ya its wrong forum i can't be arsed to delete or split it tho, im ill, so i'll let it stay hehe pHo)

Thanks!

Posted by rudeboyben on 02-27-2002 06:55 PM:

well what you have to play it on is a dvd player you can download a player from www.cdrsoft.cc make sure u get Power DVD Delux i found any other program does not run properly.

this will work trust me

I removed the first track (Track#0) with vcdgear and joined the pieces together and voila. It works!

Don't know what that first track is but as long as it's working.
