..

videocd did all these changes; blurred it, higher contrast, cropped the subs and changed the aspect ratio but got audio out of sync while doing it - if you have both youll notice its the very same.

rappa, isnt it possible to reply to a post here without being a major asshole - seriously?

simply add a black watermark to get rid of those suntitles

a little tip .....

just to add to the great post by shlap007 ........

for desynced audio :

1 open mpg in tmpgenc
2 goto settings/advanced
3 double click on source range
4 make sure video is on frame 0
4 make sure "display audio" is checked
5 then increase "audio gap correct" value untill the green waveform appears.

(in the case of scooby doo it was about 430ms for me)

this will work for most clips where the video comes before the audio. if you have a clip where the audio is heard before you see the pictures you can do the same thing while looking at the last frame of video and decreasing the "audio gap correct" value.

please guys lets see more posts like shlap007
and less fighting and whining (my 2 cents)

kind regards
rackunit

right on man! if we can easily get rid of the high contrast why doesnt the dam group do these simple color fixes?!?! if they did it with the source it would look better than our re-encodes even tho ours look ok.

I'm not bothered by subs at all. When it comes to non-English movies , I simply won't watch the film if it is dubbed. You lose a whole dimension of the movie if you can't hear what the actors are saying, even if they are talking in a language you don't understand. The dodgy Mandarin in Crouching Tiger made that movie what it was

It doesn't take much extra effort to read subs, and they are easily ignored if they are not needed to understand the film (as long as they don't take up half the pic)

Bah we both have our own personal opinions I guess
