-- Kill Bill Vol 2 *SVCD* *REPACK* - TELECINE - VideoCD (http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?threadid=41514)
I don't understand what's with teh DVD menu at the beginning.. PAL.. Sure this is a TC?.. take a look at the scene with Elle driving to Budd's.. perhaps its something wrong with the way they did it, but the scene goes black, comes back on, goes black again.. sound fades in at out at that part.. the rest is alright.
Video = 7 (jumpy, bottom of the subs nearly cropped completely off)
Audio = 6 (PAL.. slight hiss/weird sound in the background)
Movie = 10
TC wasn't really needed, TS was great.. but this will keep me busy until the Vol. 2 DVD
browsed through the bins using VLC .. jumpy frame rate may cause epileptic seizures, use caution
overall very nice rls .. but a re-encode may be due
doesn't deserve the high marks, I've seen better
videoCD still kicks ass! tnx again
6/7/?
There has been released a custom DVD-r with dolby 5.1 Awesome!
Screen is cropped...subtitles are cut off at the bottom, you lose almost 50% of them. That alone is enough reason to skip this release IMO.
^^so very true
*waits for the next release with uncutoff subs and framerate steady*
which should be in a few days i would suspect

whats with the framerate? at the begining, it seems to be going fast when it shows the bride getting shot, and then it skips about 30 sec whiles she talking in the car, and then skips another 30 seconds while the reverend is talking. if this is the repack, then why are there still errors?. hopefully there is a dvd screener floating around soon

This TC is horrible. Sure, the video looks great and clear and the audio is clean... but it's so skippy and even a little out of sync on cd3 when she's talking to the old Mexican pimp. And, keeping with tradition of their releases lately, the ending is cut short - not showing the cast credits *which is a great part of the movie imo!*.

Most good TC like ones by chakra show the entire movie including credits. Take some lessons from Chakra.

i had a prob with vlc and wmp with the framerate being jumpy, so i tried the BSPlayer that is packed with k-lite mage codec pack and it work perfectly.
download it here
I don't watch movies on my computer monitor. I watch them on my TV... no codec pack will solve that. But thanks for the info, I'm sure some will appreciate it.

looks decent. im sure a dvd screener is in the works somewhere

the picture is off center or something.. its evident by the fact the the subtitles are cut off.
sound is good, but its pal.. everyone has a little squeek to their voice.. i've watched the NTSC version a few times and it sounds more normal..
movie = awesome
edit:
when i say its pal sound, i mean it plays quicker than the normal versions.. this is evident if you listen to the soundtrack songs & speed of the music/voices.
just out of curiosity, what was wrong with the initial Kill Bill 2 release (the one before this repack) by VideoCD?
nice picture but yes the picture is a bit jumpy........ sound is good too.......

Skipping frames are more than annoying and missing a too big chunk of video (subs barely visible). Can't watch the movie this way.

Great release, only 8 on the video due to the subs being a bit hard to read but it's really not a huge deal unless you plan on keeping this for your collection. If you are just screening the movie or watching it again it's no big deal. I didnt notice any screen jumping or flickering (except during that brief driving scene) but I'm playing on cpu not on TV.
7 on audio, very crisp and clear but there is a tiny bit of buzz that would be annoying if played on a home theatre system.
10 on the movie, instant classic. More talking than pt1 but the dialogue is genius...
August 10 wow we should be getting a dvdr soon
Audio is completely out of Sync, in addition to all Video-Problems this sucks big time.

1) There are frame skips every 5-10 seconds. Probably when they were multiplexing video and external audio source - it didn't match exactly.
2) Subtitles cropped to kill so nobody knows what they are talking about when they speak Cantonese or Japanese.
3) The movie stops just before credits come out and that kills the beautiful song and footage at the end so I attached ending from another release - you can see the difference in quality but it's much better then no ending at all.
BUT despite all that; it's THE BEST video and audio quality up to date! Overall it doesn't destroy anything and the movie is more then perfectly "watchable".
All together videoCD did GREAT job on this one and they deserve our appreciation.
I give it 9.0 / 9.0 / 10 if video didn't skip I'd give it 10.
