sound is good BUT video is not that great at all. Could of been a Great rls....... someone needs to reencode this again and rls it TUN. Its not as good as van helsing but still i think the best rls. a little better than videocd's
7/9/9- as a TC

I am wish those who are puzzled about the 'blockiness'

this release is the best out there right now and far superiour to the Video-CD TS

sure, there is some typical blockiness when there is very fine details ( such as hundreds of soldiers running in one shot ) but it's minimal and this is a fully watchable release

once ya fix the cue files

Posted by tranx on 06-10-2004 11:33 PM:

watched the sample, it looks good on the tv, but not so good on the computer. not good as TC van helsing, but is still pretty good video and audio.

Well as usual people are voting just by looking at the screenshot. The movie looks nothing like the screenshot AT ALL. The video quality is very good, the best release so far. This should rate an 8 for video.

Trolls stop voting and making comments trying to make yourself look good. Actually download and watch the movie first before you open your yap.

Ive watched the whole release and it looks 10x better on the tv,
video has small pizelation which was invisible on my 24" old ass tv, the audio is spot on for a svcd, and the lack of solar glare in outdoor scenes makes it better than the videoCD release by miles, but it is miles short of retail. So thoes who where content with the videoCD release you might as well wait for retail, thoes like me that did not have weilding masks to hand to watch the videoCD release this one is for you.

as a TC

6/8/(you decide)

shame they did not give the props to the ru tc rippers, but such is life. enjoy it or avoid it, the choice is yours.

Allrite, now after AddNtoX corrected me, ive watched the full thing, so i figured its time to comment on the quality. All the nagging from the posters above may scare most away from getting this copy. Thats a shame. This is easilly the best copy out so far, and way better than the telesync. VideoCD`s release may contain less artifacts, but that one doesnt even lipsync perfectly, so if u wanna be annoyed by that crap for about 2 hrs, have fun. For being a TC, this is far from the greatest, but that doesnt conceal the fact that this is the best copy out presently.

7/7/9

Cool

The quality is pretty good, but like said a bit blocky, but watchable, better than the TS VideoCD Sound Was Great, I watched on my tv and blockyness went away

just watched this on a 32" widescreen it shits on the videocd release, didnt have to adjust the brightness once and the audio is good and fully in sync, not that im slagging videocd off there telesyncs are unrivalled

Anyone else find it ironic that the release was nuked for being "stolen".

Group politics aside, I find it funny that someone could complain about anything being "stolen".

After all. These groups don't make the movies.

:P

Smile

This rls is awesome, thank you TUN! The video could improve, but excellent sound and completely "burn-to-svcd-and-watch-on-21"-tv"-able.
And to everybody who judge the rls just by dloading the sample and watching it on your computer: get a grip, movies are intended for TV and releases shall therefore be judged only on that platform. so don't u whine 'bout shitty quality unless the rls looks shitty on a TV.

7/9/7
The movie was actually quite nice...shitty ending though...

Been a while since i've posted on the quality of a release since I think over all everyone has been able to read through the reviews and seperate the "I'm a prick and bitch about everything" posts, the "I don't know how to find the release but I wanna look cool and post so i'll just read through everyone elses posts and look at the jpeg for my review" posts.. and of course those who actually download and watch the release ON THEIR TELEVISIONS LIKE THEY WERE MEANT TO BE... posts..... the only true reliable ones of course.

There is nothing wrong with this release outside of editing the cue fix so they burn properly.. which really isn't shit to do, and if you aren't knowledgable enough to do a simple cue fix then perhaps you should'nt even be downloading shit... go back to kazaa and stick with downloading music and porn pics.. where ya belong.

After finally getting a chance to watch the full release on my 65" TV... this release is fine... the video is a tad bright in some outdoor scenes.. but no where near as shitty and bright as the Videocd TS release... (their worst release of the past few months), I noticed minimal blockiness if at all, and a tad bit of graininess that should be expected with any release..

The audio was in sync and sounded fantastic on my surround sound system... I noticed no flaws in it at all....

The movie was good... could have been better if it had a different star... Brad Pitt was just not convincing enough to be Achilles.. his "sometimes I have an accent.. sometimes I don't" performance was just terrible....

As far as the source goes who gives a flying F*CK.. if it's a good clean copy that's all I care about... most of these groups.. very few at all cam shit themselves.. it's all pretty much who can get to the best silver source first....

Sorry for the rant but the bitching about this release has just been pathetic....

Rating:
8.5/9/7

Question

stolen? stolen from who? i dont even see a hint about anyone, anywhere or accusations that it's stolen?

well if this is not stolen then a great pat in the back for TUN for this great release. it's wonderful to watch on my 29' tv. keep up the good job!!!

8/8/8

Posted by digitaldt on 06-15-2004 02:22 AM:

i dont know why the rating on this movie is so low.. maybe because it's stolen and this somehow affect the quality of the video and audio???

anyhoo, on my 20 inch tv, this movie seriously looks like a dvd rip. the video is damn near crisp as hell and the audio is very well in sync. yes, the cue file is messed up, but this is easily fixed. so dont be a dumbass and delete the whole movie just because it wont burn as an image.

so 10/10/9.... 10s because if the video is damn clear and audio is crisp, i give it a 10. gets a 9, because vcdquality says they'll revoke my privileges if i rate all 10s.

Posted by mick2 on 06-15-2004 03:48 PM:

i was put off getting this release by all the folks talking about "mozaic-vision", blocky as hell etc, etc.
im sitting watching this on a 28"tv and i have to say i find it very good quality. ok its a bit grainy but not as much as a vhs screener, the audio is spot on, cant fault that either. its 10 times
better than the videocd release.
i have to agree with some of the posts above in that some folks are either just judging by the sample on there p.c. and copying what others have said. either that or there deliberatly trying to give tun a bad name?
well done tun, a fine release!

Posted by RatMosquito on 06-19-2004 08:59 AM:

fix cue files

for those who don't know... open the .cue files with notepad and rename the path inside the quotes to the actual name of the bin file

i.e. change "F:\TUN1\TUN-TR~1.BIN" to "tun-troy-tc1.bin" and so on.

the smaller the tv the better for watching this one, still a bit blocky but otherwise good quality and great audio.

Posted by dalton4life on 06-20-2004 03:15 PM:

As a so so telecine this is better than the good VideoCD telesynch IMO. It's a little bit grainy and has that yellow line on the side. A lil TMPGenc noise reduction and cropping fixes that. This has better color, the complete begining and stays in synch. And you can totally make out what's going in it the bright battle scenes. This one is the total keeper until the DVD rip.

This Telecine looked really nice on my tv and the sound was excellent on home theater system. IMHO TUN did a very nice job with this release and I congratulate them. There was some kinda yellowish looking on the left hand side of the screen but I didnt notice it on Disc 3. All in all this was a good Telecine but the movie wasnt that great. Probably could have been better. Anyways Very NICE Job TUN and Keep It UP

Edit

Just thought I'd say...All you "Whiners" (Sorry...Couldnt think of a nicer way to put it. I dont want to make anyone mad but...) need to watch this release on the Television and stop posting from the dang sample and jpeg. TUN did a very nice job and the TS from VideoCD was definately thier worst so far...VideoCD is still one of the BEST!!!! though. Dont just hop on the wagon, make your own judgement on these movies....but please watch them on television first! Thanks for this one TUN...GREAT JOB. Best release of Troy so far.

Great Release...

Been holding off so long for a DVD SCR of this, but I finally gave in and downloaded it.

If this was labeled as a TS, it'd be up there with Potter and Spiderman 2.

I would think the most noticeable blockiness would come during the scene where the ships set said for Troy, and the battles, but my 32" TV cleaned up all of that.

8.8.10 -the best version out there, and worth the bandwidth.

::edit:: oh yeah, no "yellow line" anywhere with playback on my Panasonic, so it's probably a player issue for those with it.
