Exactly I mean I bet any amount of money that the TS/FACT/FBI, whichever set of people you want to talk about, know about this site and the trading forums that people sell the stuff on. So adding the IRC servers/channels where you can get the stuff just means that they know EXACTLY where people are getting the material from, can track down the sources and bust as many people as they can bash out warrants.

its bad for irc and this webpage. 'conspiracy to distribute intellectual property' or something like that, Im sure you get the basic idea...

I agree 100% with peoples, its a bad idea. I remember when i started off it took a lot of searching and learning to get the movies i wanted which made me appreciate the scene. Now kiddies can come on here click a link and know exactly where to find movies. (and a whole lot of other things)....

I would think with all these disagreements that pho or whoever would pull the plug on the idea. Your going to get a lot of shit from Motion Picture production companys yeah it might provide a nice little check for you every month but the lawsuits are going to suck that out real quickly. Remember you guys are a huge site that was promoted on 60 fuckin minutes you have a pretty decent ranking on alexa.com your going to get shit from this sooner or later. Web sites go down because of this shit. N00b's get there links from lame sites or kazaa not from well established information sites like this. I hope you guys make the right decision for your future

It's a bad "new feature". This was supposed to be a site where you searched for latest releases, not some kiddie site. If someone has to use that button to know how to download, they really shouldn't be here.

BTW, it's broken. It's adding (b)(/b) html tags at the end.

i dont understand why ppl care about the button but i will say that IRC users are probably the majority of the users of vcdq and if that keeps em here instead of going to other sites to hit that same button then X69 is on the right track

I will miss this site when it gets flooded with lawsuits

I dont like it at all, but as a few others have said its x69's site and he can do as he wishes, he is a business man, he is going to do what is best for his interests.

Having said that i personally wouldn't have thought, after all the previous attention for authorities and/or companies, that it would never have happened. Also, this site has always maintained a 'news only' stance, which i think pretty much goes out the window with even more added link pointing you to exactly where to find something. Although, on the other hand, even an xdcc search site can hold that 'news only' stance...

The reason it doesn't appeal to me is because this site will become a portal for xdcc leechers, people will come here because it will both inform them of the new releases AND tell them where to get it, which no other sites will do (im guessing this is part if not the majority of the reason it was done, traffic generation), but to get back to my point. I really hope the forum, ratings and comments side of the site do not go to shit because of it. There is little to no doubt that the level of users asking stupid questions that do not belong here will rise noticably in the not so distant future.

Ps. it is my understanding that x69 also runs the xdcc search site itself ?

Heh, very true. And almost everybody will use irc and xdcc at one point, or at least try. NOBODY can find EVERYTHING without having to browse through a few of their less prefered mediums.

I havnt posted in ages and this is a huge concern to me. Dont post the button....PLEASE dont post the button!

Alright, that has to be one BIG ASS check for this to seem like any type of a good idea, this is very discouraging seeing that, the only thing it's really going to do is bring more attention to the nastier side of things, I really don't agree with this but if it's what X69 has to do to keep things afloat right now, he has my blessing, can't argue with the man that pays the bills.

its not like they already didnt have a link to ircspy or xdccspy, just click on the release title like "I Robot *INTERNAL* *SVCD* - TELESYNC - POT" Link to it HERE . Scroll down and you will see Search IRC area with xdccspy and ircspy . This is just making it a lil easier for people i guess. Also another note it that it does not lead you to finding that particular release by POT, it does a search for "I, Robot" and not
"I Robot *INTERNAL* *SVCD* - TELESYNC - POT", so you will get the results of all group release and reencoded avi of I, Robot. And before the sight went down the ircspy and xdccspy links worked, but now they point to vcdreview.com, guess you guys need to fix

And yes i am an avid irc user, and i love using it and have been for 3 years.
