NUKED:Mislabeled.Cam HMM Looks like POT has changed their mind and stance on rls'ng TS, OH no wait...This is CAM..Nice..Try POT..As a CAM..i give the Pic a 5..Cropped and Pixelated..Sound is a bit Hollow as well...4.5...As for the movie..I only flipped through it....Haven't even watched Anaconda Yet...Enjoy!!!

watched more of this rls and ftf's version. if you don't have pots version get FTF's or wait for a ts. anyway i compaird the video of the two rls ( my sound card died last night) and FTF seems nicer to me, some more color, but also croped more. as for sound i have no clue

Honestly, I'm not TRYING to go against the traffic, but....

This is a NICE release, maybe one of POT's best so far, of the non-DTS releases. The picture is colorful and not *too* pixelated. And the sound, although tinny and cammish, is surprisingly easy to understand. Many times "tinny" sound is hard to hear clearly, but this isn't too bad at all. Maybe it IS a mislabeled cam, but since there's no audience noise whatsoever, I'd give them a pass.

Nice point in the nfo about the shit-fest season beginning....

Bah... Cam my ass..... This is a direct audio source.. while not a great one it's still classified a TS and got nuked for no good "justified" reason other than someone must want to keep the channels open (so to speak) for a better TS.. it's a load of Bull Sh*t in my opinion... a bunch of spoiled kiddies who have nothing better to do than bash a decent watchable release.

For those who just don't get it see below for a lesson in:
DIRECT AUDIO 101

Video is fair.. a few people getting up and down.. and a few heads moving around.. not too bad.. I've seen far worse.

Any of the spoiled peeps on here rating this below a 7 are just that.. spoiled.

The movie was okay.. not much better than the first... not much worse either... if they had dropped "the hunt for the blood orchid" from the title (even sounds cheezy) and threw in a couple of somewhat popular actors it would probably have had a better total at the box office than what it will bring.

7/7/7

OKAY... FOR THOSE WHO JUST CANNOT UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DIRECT AUDIO AND AUDIO RECORDED WITH A MIKE...
The main diffference between cam(microphone) audio and direct audio(line input through camcorder) is with audio captured through a microphone you can hear everything that is going on in the audience... people laughing, talking, hollering, screaming.. phones ringing, ect ect... the sound (if they have used a mono camera) is extremely hollow and muffled.. and in most cases hard to hear and make out what is being said sometimes.. If they have used a Stereo camera.. all the above applies.. however it will be much clearer and not as muffled so you can make out for the most part what is being said through the movie... Sometimes these cams are not so bad if it is done in an empty or near empty theater with no noise going on around to distract from the already bad audio... recent releases like this would be Open Water-POT, (which started out direct.. but had so much static from the input jack the cammer pulled it out a few minutes into it and just recorded the theater audio.. a perfect example of how to tell the difference between bad quality DIRECT audio and decent watchable Cam audio.. for those who just don't get it grab the first disc of it and see what I mean) and Without a Paddle-Tun, both watchable cams.. nothing more, nothing less.

Direct Audio... DOES NOT HAVE TO BE DTS OR SURROUND SOUND.. Direct audio can be mono.. either through a sound board, hearing impaired jack or (what has become very popular over the last few months) sourced to the actual DTS discs and synched with cammed video (the end result which I personally believe needs a new catagory, something between TS and TC...perhaps TDS Telesync.Digital.Sound ??
Depending on the quality of recording equipment that is used direct audio can vary greatly from one end of the spectrum to the other... case in point this release.. probably on older mono camera was used to shoot it.. you can here a bit of scratchyness from time to time where the camera man moves or bumps the DIRECT AUDIO INPUT wires occasionally... but notice...the theater is packed.. and what do you here???? NO AUDIENCE NOISE.. do you know why??? because it was a DIRECT INPUT.. thus making it a Telesync... NOT a cam.

Well that's it for : DIRECT AUDIO 101.. if you peeps still can't get it than you probably shouldn't even be on here much less allowed to post a review on something you obviously know shit about... go back to watching Nickelodian.. or jerking off over Lizzie Maguire.. Leave the release rating to the ones who know what the hell they are talking about.

STAY AWAY FROM FTF

TDS. I love it, LOL.

Anyway, i'm going to have to go against most of the crowd here. The video actually isn't bad at all. I think the audio is a CAM job, but its understandable. A nice "Telesync Digital Sound" would have been nice, but maybe one will come along. Video 6, CAM Audio 6, Movie ? Havent watched entire release yet. Oh, and Goldwave will do wonders with the hiss reduction and EQ.

You gotta be shittin me LOL , i compaired the two also , id say your sound card died also, FTF is missing half the screen with their crop, if your sound card was still alive you would say pickup POT of wait till a SVCD TS cause FTF's copy is unwatchable with their sound. Its horrible , no other way to put it.

People like to know what is in the movie before downloading, also if it is worth downloading. Peoples heads, cropping, lamers walking in & out etc.. If you wanna flame me, have at it, but at least my reviews are honest and I have actually watched the entire film when I do rate it. Does that ? for movie review mean you haven't yet seen the flick?
/me end rant, end reviews ...fucking download it and see as far as I am concerned.

This post was uncalled for. firefighter wasn't flaming you. He was presenting a logical argument, as he always does. He's one of the few people here who actually knows what he's talking about and actually watches things before posting. All you had to say was that you're not one of the people who always rates maVen highly. There. Done. No need to flame.

Video - 5/10 - pretty good cam
Audio - 4½/10 - supposedly direct. It just seems hollow or idk how to describe it. Not bad though, hearable.
Movie - ?/10 - isnt gonna be good i bet

Good first release POT

Posted by deusx on 08-29-2004 05:52 AM:

For my review, scroll up and read lickmyzack's post since he beat me to it. This must have direct audio, most of the sound problems even seem to come from a bad mic jack, so I don't know why anyone would nuke it for that. Video is solid enough for a cam. You can see how good the picture is when there isn't much movement, so I think it's the 1150 vcd bitrate that hurts it, whereas svcd resolution may have been too grainy and not worth the bother. Still plenty watchable, especially on a TV.

It'd be really picky to say there's lots of heads in this. There's like three and they don't stick around. The main top of a head that gets in the way for a minute actually added to the movie because at first it looked like it was a monster coming out of the water. hahaha. I've played a dirty trick on you now because now you'll have to watch it to see for yourself.

Audio is direct but hollow and goes loud/soft and and buzzes a couple times. Didn't bother me on a movie like this. It's a typical low-brow monster movie, but it had a "whoa" moment or two, so not too bad if you're bored and take it for what it is.

7/5/6 Thanks, POT!

Posted by BLUE-NEO on 08-29-2004 08:53 AM:

decent pic and ok audio. didn't sound that bad to me. could have been better but not worth the nuke*. I usually don't give a damn about pot releases. but they seem to be the only group to drop them out early. they need a better cammer though, I mean the constant heads, the overcropping, and OMG the waste of SVCD of some of there telesync's are just pathetic, washed out color and grainy pics. do like this release and stick with vcd. until you get a digital camera, instead of the KMART mini your using now. lol..

decent release no doubt.

6/6/?

as a fan of the original (even with its all quirks) i am looking forward to this movie, i have heard mixed reviews lately about it but thats usually the case with a lot of these hollywood sequels.

4/4/?

not a fan of cams, but i'm not a cam hater, so i guess we just wait for a better release.

This is one of POT's better cams to date. The picture is kind of dull, but watchable. The sound is good for a cam, I'll keep it untill something better is out.

head heads and more heads...I think i counted about 16 heads. video quality is ok besides that i give it a 7 ....Sound gets a 8 from me and the movie plain sucks 2. The end is just wacked, no need for another release of this movie with no plot if u seen the one with ice cube no need to see this one.
