since when does videocd give a shit lol. Look at shark tale there were like 5 versions out before they pred. If they do it great hope they do. you should be commenting on fra quality not on if they screwed it up for videocd. Have you read a videocd nfo recently. Kinda tell everyone fuck you.

Posted by nouse on 10-19-2004 01:24 PM:

sounds quite good, but to be straight on video, its shit... well, not too shit to watch but took part of the joy away

I don't know what other sites have done, but this was nuked for bad quality alone on a couple that I've seen. Thank god there's still some people with some logical reasoning left in the scene.

The sound on this release was fine, perfect, I mean it's DTS, what do you expect? But the video, I didn't expect it to be so bad. It's probably pretty bright throughout the whole movie and it's puppets for christ's sake, what could you do to fuck it up? Well, believe me, the video is barely watchable. This might've been tolerable if they had it out a week ago, but after theatrical release, no way.

(I saw the actual movie at the theatre though, and it gets a ten out of ten for sure).

Gay scene rules state that you "cant" proper on quality alone. You need interlace , video missing , audio problems, etc , etc ... you get the picture.

PROPERS:

- No previous releases may be propered based on audio or video bitrate.
- Propers will be allowed in the case of technical problems, bad aspect ratio, sync problems, skipping/freezing, interlaced, bad ivtc, etc

Sure if VideoCD , maVen , Centropy ... whoever get a nice TS they release anyway and dont give two shits. Take it or leave it. Times have changed and this whole movie scene is full of kiddie nukers now who would love more then anything to say they nuked VideoCD/maVen.

Time for a TDX Rule change !

Also to all the Silver grps who read VCDQ's forum (which i know ya do) ...
Silver + DTS Audio = VCD (mpeg1) TELESYNC ... at best.

Helpful hint of the day: Silvers are all MPEG1 (VCD) as vobs to get the movie small and onto that disk easier, by encoding to mpeg2 (SVCD) , it doesnt make the picture any better as it was already screwed when the cammer quickly threw the CAM > Silver as time is money. So by encoding SVCD , it doesnt improve the quality any but just rather pisses of hundreds of leechers as it possibly can screw a better copy from being released in the furture.

/me claps

best post i ever read in the comments section

firefighter , ya i don't see why they svcd encode silver cams , guess they do it just to piss the leeches off lol

then again, if you release your TS as a SVCD, it can effectivly make your release the only TS release of that movie, since i don't think a group will release a VCD of it if their is a SVCD of it , since it would then be a dupe , but hey im a moron and im usually worng

I agree with you a change is do. However, VideoCD managed to sidestep a NUKE when they PROPERED the Terminal.SVCD.TS. Back in the day Anyhow, this is the best release so far. Best thing it has going for it is the DTS sound. The pic is dark and cropped as stated, but easily watchable on a bigger tv burned to disk. I enjoyed the film, but its definitely NOT for everyone.

Definately not a bad release, bit grainy but watchable, sound really good.

finally caved and watched this release, since nothing else was recently released.

actually glad I did. Via XBox on TV it was watchable through and through, especially with the sound being spot-on.

Yeah, it a little dark, and blurry/grainy.
However, it's fully watchable, and just as warped as you'd expect from Parker and Stone

Sorry, I'm not understanding how to burn this to be able to play in a DVD. I know this is only a place for review, but i figure since i have a questions about this specific release, it'd be better here than the Newbie forum. I'm wrong, I'm sorry...

When i try to burn using the VideoCD option in Nero, im presented with about 5 or 6 different folders. CD-R's are only 700mb, while each bin/cue file is 800mb.

How do i burn this to be able to play on a DVD player? if thats not even possible.. how do i get this to play on a computer, i guess?

[Edit:: Use Nero's "Burn Image" function (in the file menu) or use CDRWin or Alcohol120% - Nerversoft]

Posted by puppet on 10-23-2004 07:06 PM:

^^ (in response to the mod edit)

When i try to use the Burn Image function in Nero, it worked, and played on my DVD player.. however, it had a big green bar across the top, and played so choppily it was almost like it was in slow motion. Is this my DVD player, or did i burn it wrong?

2 things - post this in the newbies section

second id say its due to it being burned to fast, try lowering the speed if not it could be the media or the dvd burner, try not to use doller store media and make sure your dvd burner is complient with svcd/vcd
