samples

How does one view samples for the movies... I see jpg screen shots only. I see people commenting on how the sound quality of movies is good/bad and the quality of a sample is good/bad. Am I missing something obvious?

Cool here's a sample

Hey, this is a good release for a pre. And the bar doesn't really bother me. As long as the video isn't too bad. Here's a jpeg for anyone that wanted a link to it:

i hope i don't get in trouble for posting this, but here it goes anyways:

The group has asked us not to post their images. This includes links.

Cool not a telesync

this is a either a workprint or screener and its like a 4th generation vhs copy but its watchable

Posted by fenris on 07-16-2002 06:35 AM:

Why don't they want it to be posted are they pulling it so only a few lucky people get a copy??

Posted by Static on 07-16-2002 07:00 AM:

Nice colorful pic and clear sound.
Worth the d.l

Shouldnt be nuked. Workprint, Telecine, Telesync, I dont give a fuck. It's early, free, and much better than 90% of what's been released lately.

so did I ask the wrong question?? I wasn't sure if this comment was aimed at me or folks in general, "

"thing is that some people has to shutup sometimes and learn to respect group decisions"

If truth be known I do respect the decision of the groups who release this stuff, I'm not the one doing it so I have to. If I was releasing stuff like when I did anime digisubs it would be different but I'm not anymore. You will never hear me complain about quality or groups EVER in these message boards. I appreciate what I can get. Hell I know the risk I did a copy of X-men and released it to some friends on the net. It's not easy.

Thank you for hearing me out.

Bunch of broke asses go out and see the movie and spend a buck or two.

It's free and what comes around goes around. Now, how about some cheese with that Whine!

Well Dling this now, and I already got to see the sample to it and overall, its a very clear copy, and the sound for once doesnt sound hollow like some of the VCD's, in some areas in the sample you can see that its a tad blurry, but overall a very nice release.

I was abit skeptical when i saw the jpg wasnt being shown, but after getting the sample and seeing it for myself, Personally, Get the rls, cause its probably going to be the best out for awhile. FTF wont be able to get it this clear.

Very nice rls I must say.

glad it was nuked

even if you wanted this movie desperately to watch it.. ect... that quality is not great at all. first off, black bars all over the top to cover watermarks/serials.. and a 'do not duplicate' at the bottom staring boldly at you the entire time. Also, no reason in the WORLD to make this an svcd, quality doesn't meet up to svcd standards. Only thing svcd's need to be used for are dvd rips. But other than that, damn good release speed guys =)

the jpegs are 'usually' taken from the sample of the movie by the vcdq update staff (as far as i know)
S/VCD releases almost always include an nfo file for information about the release, as well as a 10(vcd) 15-20(svcd) megabyte sample.
a sample is a small cut from a release to give people an idea of the quality without having to download a complete cd.

Guys, people, few points,

THIS is a mighty fine release, specially for a Pre release, so why not cut the bitching out.
Second, this is a screener of sorts, its used for viewing when recording soundtracks, if any of you doubt me, check out star wars the phantom menace dvd, in the making of docu, we see john williams scoring the music, on the wall, projected is the film, with serial numbers and info ALSO that red dignol line. So, it is offical (ok, from the soundtrac) but still the same, a fine release, also the most simple reason for the black bars, is there was probally serial numbers etc.. on the print in case of theft :-) so they have been blanked out.

Props for a top release, keep it up

actually if you dont have a mpeg sample people go apeshit.. only sites that dont have samples for the movies are small dumps.. or of course divx dumps
