Im sure someones heard of em, but there shit I kinda stumbled upon and have enver herad anyone else mention. Roomie in college introduced me to Vast. Along with Mindless Self Indulgence, Lord of Acid and a few other weirds one (The Lefties, Bruise Brothers, etc).

not as impressed as i was with the vid you linked to...but it's my first listening and i do like at least 4 of the tracks...

i strobgly recommend you track down gentleman's 'confidence' album tho, got a feeling you're gonna love that

depends on your definition of punk. real punk is hard to come by these days, nearly as soon as a new "punk" band is discovered, they've got about two weeks before hitting sell-out status.

plus, if you consider late teens and early twenty somethings basing their music off even greats like the sex pistols, bad religion, or ramones, or more often "punks" like green day and... shit, who were those fuckers... blonde guy, cameo on "idle hands"... fly for a white guy... hell, cant remember their name, but those guys... where was i going with this... oh yeah, doing something thats been done before isnt punk. i think the punkest group out right now would have to be outkast or busta rhymes, zlad! maybe...

Doctor Zoidy: Offspring is the band you were thinking off. and yeah, almost everything that's being done has already been done, but that doesn't mean that the sound can't still be good, or that a new twist can't be added. Op Ivy are still nearly my all time favorite punks, but they certainly weren't the first ones out there; and even that shit is from the 80's!

Gotta love and respect the originals, but i know there are new guys out there that can come up with some good shit too! I jus was wonderin if anyone had any favs.

And since you brought up ska and the rest.........we can throw that on the list too. Who're your favs?

glad you got into it! the style of the album is a lot different then his live performances, a lot more chilled out. which is why he's coming out with a live album some time in april! personally i find the studio album a nice change to all the live stuff. pm me i can send you some more if you want..

I love Matthew Good. I still think my favorite album of his is 'Beautiful Midnight".

I have been listening to John Butler Trio (Sunrise Over Sea). Great band.

I also found a local act called "Sunday Valley". Kinda of a rockabilly/southern rock sound. Good drinking music. Heard them live and they blew me away. I posted the disc in ab.mp3.complete_cd a week or so ago if you wanna try them out. You won't find them anywhere else.

I never could get into this album. Listened to it twice. Anything in particular you like about it? I'm mildly curious because there are quite a few CD's I pick up that take some time to sink in... but after a while it's hard to tell which once you should let have the chance and which ones you should move along. I had this in the move along pile.
