-- Star Wars Episode 3 Revenge of the Sith - WORKPRINT - ViSA (http://forum.vcdq.com/showthread.php?threadid=62954)
It is REALLY easy to use IFOEdit to change the aspect ratio to 16:9 when you play it in a DVD player.
Just thought I'd let everyone know.
This is actually quite nice, pic is very watchable, and sound is fine although not up to Star Wars quality, and the timer is annoying, but you could still watch it.
This is mpeg2 320x240 30fps at a CBR of 1.15mbps, with 224mp2 sound, so in other words its a mpeg2 VCD on a DVD.
If you dont have a DVD Burner, then just just extract the mpeg, chop it in half and burn it onto 2CD's as a Non-Standard VCD, should play on most players.
7/7/?
I'm going to make this VERY SIMPLE. Post on the quality of this release, ONLY or you get banned.
-K
Big timers but nice early release, wait till after seen at theatre b4 watching this though, looks decent though
wow lucas will be mad
ok finally getting the movie and the sample was quite impressive for a workprint (not too many of them now-a-days) The audio well its less than impressive but it works and its clear enough. The video tho is nice for a WP, the wps i remember off the top are hulk, kill bill and soul plane (in order) all very welcome rls's, this is better than hulk, ill say its on line with the last 2 rls, (amazingly 2 of the mentioned WP rlsd on p2p) the last 2 were good for what they were. The negative is of course the counters but i dont grade down on what the groups cant control just what they can...
with this said so far i give it a 8/6/? as a WP not compared to anything other than the few WPs Ive seen - still would love the mib wps with stand ins instead of cgi (but anyway)
whoever rlsd this i bet will feel the wrath because of it, you thought the hulk dude got in trouble, woo hoo... but THANKS ALOT!! Not a true SW fan but more a WP fan altho i planned to get this cuz natalie portman is a hottie, I just didnt expect it before tomorrow. Supplier CONGRATS hope u dont get in trouble and can keep up future pre rls's and congrats to a small group for pre'ing this for everyone else, if you never rls again you will be remembered for this!
:: FINALLY WATCHED THE FULL RLS AND WOW THAT WAS A FANTASTIC MOVIE! I MIGHT ACTUALLY WATCH THE ORIGINALS ALL THE WAY THROUGH! PLEASE dont cry about the encoding, This is more than likely 1st gen vhs wp, now i remember that people were mad at scr as svcd because of vhs source, now truthfully id say since whoever wouldve had to use a capture card. shoulda just went to hi qual dvd, but you dont get everything you want from a pre! And in my eyes a damn fine one with fix applied! it was rushed out to trickle down without reencoding from the P2P rls to be scene complient and I cant say I blame them. The capper might be in jail right now for all we know, so I THANK YOU! weird noise spots especially when it goes kind of silent. I say FANTASTIC RLS counters suck and not anyones fault other than lucas himself! REVISED RATING: 8/7/9 (yup a 9! for me to say that about SW is well... not believable to me, def the best from what i can remember)
It would have been nice if these guys would have consulted with someone who knew a little bit about video conversion and encoding. 29.97 fps with the obligatory duplicate every 5th frame is just stupid.
Picture is as good as you would expect from a worpring, sounds is solid too, but you would have to be absolutely desperate for bragging rights to sit through the whole thing with those massive counters blocking the screen.
This is a bad ar vcd made as a DVDR.

Just a few more wp shots. as a WP VCD, its not bad, pretty good color, the counters are hella annoying tho..
its star wars, its before premier, and its free
8/9/10
great quality minus the stretched ar. shame, source is probably awesome, just packaged retardedly, either way very watchable, ill be waiting on a proper as im not a hardcore fan and not really in a rush to see this.
7/9/x
based on the sample, the movie is watchable. and the special effects have been added in, though they do look a little amateurish.
now the burning question is whether anything that is in the final theater version has been left out of this workprint.
someone should report back on this....
My hats off to ViSA.

Just use Theatertek's aspect ratio control to move the counters out of the picture. Sure, you'll lose some of the picture, but it's a good compromise for distraction free viewing.
Go to Edit in the aspect ratio control and then use the up button to move the counters off the screen.
with specs posted...
this couldnt have been much if any better with a higher encoding rate as its really a vcddvd technically. Im sure a (svcd/correct dvd) of this will be out as its a pdvd unless the original was encoded to vcd (dont know why) either way this is a great pre but im sure a TS/TC will improve it in the next few days... just sucks that the 2 groups making the magik now has no need to race just come up with the sexiest rls.. this is a keeper because of the rls category(WP), but better rls will be here, which one has more connects is the question
remember when The Passion of the Christ came out and there was like a dozen cams? I thought that was gonna happen again, thank heavens i'm wrong. I think this might be a good enough copy for now. Its definitely a must-have for die hard star wars fans
7/8/7 (not a big fan)

timers, bars, whatever. This is how I prefer to watch the third pile of crap in Lucas' abandonment of being a visionary director and pure "moy-chendising".
At least now if I am bored watching it through I can just count the pretty numbers on the timer... The episode 2 bootlegs needed this!
The AR is off of course, but playing on XBMC you can just adjust the AR on the fly, so I'm quite happy with this release based on bits from beginning (as much as I detest what Lucas has done to the series, I still am a movie fan who does not like spoiling it for myself; even for films I could care less about)
So, props to this WP. Is it nuked? Is it stolen? do I care? Nope
It's a very watchable copy of something I will not have to spend any money on.
7/7/X
From previewing about 3 rars.. if you take this into tmpgenc, and make it 16:9 it looks fabulous... ii previewed it so no guarantee but from what i saw it will be good. Grabbing it now and will report back.
Great for a first one, even b4 premiere!
Don't bother to repeat what everybody's been saying 'bout bad AR, counters ETC, I don't know if ViSA is the original releaser, due to the facted stated that the WP has been floating out all day in a non-scene standard .ISO (no RAR counts).
Just gotta say at the end: for a movie of this format - LucasArts PROTECTS it wp's and I read somewhere they don't even MAKE screeners - (but that's a bit off-topic). A release in VCDquality (352*288) in this standard, same day or day before premiere, is the reason why I love "The Scene" with all it's Pimpers..
Anyone remember an old "Scene-name" like "1103"? For those who do - that's how long I've been around, and the Pimpin' has been going on ALL TIME!
Vid - 7/Aud -7/WP(MOVIE) - 10!!

The sound is good, the AR is off but that is easily corrected. This is a workprint but I watched the whole thing and it appears that all of the special effects have been added to it. The picture is slightly grainy which is to be expected if it was taken from a vcd source. Also, there are a few times where the movie skips back a second. This could have just been vlc, but it is probably due to a vcd disc change while making the dvdr.
I wasn't expecting much after the first two movies, but I thought this one was good.
for a work print:
7/8/8

I take my hat of to WP for getting this out
so fast

Hmm... I wonder what the source quality of this was and why they released it as a VCD encode on DVD-R. Probably didn't want to rattle too many cages. It's great for a first release, though the res and low bitrate contribute alot of blocks.
7/7/4 (sorry, not a Star Wars fan)
