This release is even worse than previous releases.
Video gave me headaches, with the blocks, and the audio went out of sync at second c.d, atleast with me.
Maybe okay for die-hard fans, but I' ve patience :-)

proper, pffff. the 16:9 aspect ratio is a non factor imo, as you can just change it with ifoedit on the visa rls, no reencode needed and no loss of quality as a result. i personally noted 2 repeated scenes in the original rls (may be more). come on guys, internal this sh*t tho. you reencoded something taken from p2p. granted the repeat scenes aren't there, but the major change was the ar fix, which you don't need to dl the release again to do. credit whores.

picture : 5, blocky, as if visa's wasn't enough already
audio : 8, not as bad as people make it out to be
movie : 7, some of the "dramatic" parts were so cliche i laughed. more blowing stuff up pls.

i can give you some advice: go watch the movie in the cinema

you have to see it on the big screen to really appreciate it!

Proper???? Get a life. I'm glad the quality score is a lot lower than the Mobsters release, because there is barely any difference in the AR, and if you use a media player that's worthwhile you can easily stretch it to fit your screen.

The video quality is slightly worse on SG18 rls plus they left the counters intact, probably because they were too lame to know how to remove them like mobsters.

No need for this rls whatsoever, certinaly no improvement over the mobsters rls, in fact most people would prefer that one due to no counters.

re-encoded with a 'smooth' filter, so its blurry untill
the action scenes, then its overly blocky
hope is on the way? POT has a internal WP, 3cd SVCD, dont know if its just another re-encode....

wow, watched POT internal sample, compared to original VISA wp, looks nice! no way to stretch a 352x240 pic to a 480x480 reencode and some how have a better picture. pictures just a little bit sharper, with out the artifacts/pixelation. (I would have saved this for the internal pot release forum, but I know sometimes internals dont show up on vcdq.)

Recodes of recodes ..What can i add And high action sequences is well blocky

Posted by Scouse1 on 05-21-2005 02:07 AM:

Why the marks so low..Until there is a decent TS your stuck with the numbers so deal with it.
Picture 8
sound 8
movie....fuckin shite....well it's Star Wars innit'

If your a true Star Wars fan, there maybe somethin' in theworkprint that ain't in the movie.......... Imagine that.
PS. All Star Wars movies are crap.

If you find my comments offensive , you really do need a girlfriend!

Thumbs down NOT BY who they claim

the two types of this movie are the same and stolen right from Lucas Studios It what you call a workshop copy and as for this copy its suck and that smug at the top will drive you crazy. your better off waiting for a centropy or tun.

Good rls, no problems, looked good on the 27". Runs smooth unlike the other 2 releases.

Theres nothing wrong with this release. The video is clear, the aspect ratio is pretty good and the sound is freakin awesome on my surround sound.

Watched the movie on my 32" TV and the only thing that was annoying me was some pixellaration and the counters.

Posted by Wanderer22 on 05-24-2005 01:28 AM:

Seems fine to me, too.

As I understand it, this is not a "re-encode of a re-encode of a re-encode".. everyone's taking from the same original source. It just seems that SG18 is the only one to actually go through and fix the problems, like the audio sync, aspect ratio, blank scenes, repeating scenes, etc.

It's a little fuzzy if you're used to SVCDs, since it's VCD from VHS source, but still.. very watchable. Excellent sound, too.. I had a stack of old VHS tapes sitting on top of my subwoofer. The operative word being "had".. they fell off during the opening battle, from the vibrations.

At first, I was annoyed that they'd left the counter in place, but I think I prefer that to the blurred-out counters of some of the other releases. The blur changes from scene to scene, and the odd motion is enough to draw attention to it. Whereas the counter stays constant, never changing, and as a result it's easily ignored after the first couple of minutes.

Excellent release, I think. This one should hold me for quite a while.
