Bullshit. I saw this in cinema also - and it does not 'zoom in' and focus itself during the dreamworks logo.

if you think tc machine can't be out of focus or can't zoom then you really don't have any idea how this technology works. if you wanna some fact for example you can look into user handbook of one of professional tc machine C-Reality Film Scanner ( you can download manual from Cintel website http://www.cintel.co.uk/support/documentation.htm ).
a few notes from there:

Scanning Effects
All scanning effects are “optical”; that is, all effects are achieved by manipulating the scan. This avoids the resolution limitations experienced when processing a digital representation of the image. Scanning effects include zoom, rotation, linear and non-linear X-Y squeeze as well as many other more advanced effects.

also take a look to the focus effects on pg. 161-163

anyways as for quality of this tc release:
9/7/7

No way dude - at the theater i saw it in, it was focused whole way...the only thing that happened was some curtains came across (in the actual theater) and cropped sides a bit !

I dont understand why everyone on every NBP thread argues "This is a TC , this isnt a TC" ... etc bleh. Especially for NBP/TUN members to come on and say "Yes this is a TC" , when all they do is download an XViD and encode it.

99% of the users on this forum including myself have never seen a TC machine much less touched one , including every NBP member.

Untill NBP touched a TC machine i will continue to believe their mislabled TS's as thats how their labled on Torrent (source).

All politics and this thread can go on for months lol .... lets stick to how crappy quality this is for a TELECiNE !.

neway

rated as watever

8/7/not watched yet looks good

Posted by FrogDawg on 09-01-2005 07:46 PM:

Definite TS, nice pic a tad blurry, there's a shadow of someone walking across the screen and sitting down to the left of the screen when the "Red Eye" logo comes up until they cut from the guys wallet (bout 20 seconds, don't usually get people's shadows in TC's )the sound is ok but has a hiss to it, shame it's nuked maybe a "proper" by NBP to tag it as a TS will come along

based on the full release as a TS

Airhead2, whats your problem with NBP/Asteroids/Royal, u seem to be getting quite upset there, and most of your comments makes no sense at all, and are extremely uneducated to say the least.

The Royal DVDR's are in no way from some Russian TS XviD Torrent, have u actually downloaded them, even on a TC, its obvious if the soure has been an avi at some point, even 2 and 3 Disc versions still leave some clues behind, and if they are using an XviD, then they must be the best encoders around at the moment.

Its true the recent TC's have been quite poor compared to last years by TUN and Meteor, but still damn good in my opinion, and theres no way The Island was a TS
http://www.vcdquality.com/index.php...sample&id=54246

Since i dont have any pics of the DVDR and that looked better than the XviD.

The worst thing on these releases is the sound not the video, every one has had horrible Mono, hissy sound, the video on the whole has been Decent to Good.

Im not overly familiar with loads of Torrent sites, but i have not seen a Russian TS of any of the TC's released, so im pretty sure your full of shit, but someone please feel free to correct me.

ok what is the point of all this bitching? maybe nbp shouldn't have labeled a ts as a tc but really, who cares? just so long as its decent quality and we get it for free right? i'm suprised no ones mentioned the obvious yet...does it have full end credits? can't comment coz i've only seen the first 10 mins or so but that would probably be a good starting point.....

from what i saw....
v - 8
a - 7
m - ?

EDIT:: watched the whole thing now....i'd say its a tc to be honest.... how many ts's have full end credits? none that i've ever seen... although feel free to correct me if im wrong...

Yes, full end credits, right up to the final Dreamworks Logo, all perfectly framed and readable.

Now how many TS have that, and why would they bother.

Posted by dart31 on 09-02-2005 09:08 AM:

not surprised it is mislabled

won't even bother rating

Its obviously a ts. Video is pretty good and audio is okay if you don't turn it up too loud. Movie wasn't bad but I thought there would be more to it. Cillain Murphy looks like he's going to be the next big Irish Star to hit Hollywood which is great cause I'm sick of seeing Collin Farrell's mug in the paper.

8/6/6

Posted by wrist on 09-02-2005 09:56 PM:

I think its a TS

Rated as TS 9/6/8

Pic - Superb
Sound - OK
Flik - Very suprised by this one - Great!

in your response to saying "I dont understand how the f'ing technology works.Ive been a colorist for going on 6 years now.Your two bits of research at the cintel website mean jack to me.If you understood or have witnessed transfer on a regular basis you would know that the optical scanning effects are secondary and you have to intentionally set the machine to use them.I cant think of any reason unless the person was drunk that any of these optical effects would be used during the transfer. Not to mention the machines being used by these russians are no where close to the caliber of machine your trying to debunk my comments based on.Why do you think 90% of the telecine we see end up having kind of a 70's look to the video.Because thats about how old the machines there probably using are not a 600k rank cintel.Stick with what you know dumbass. This is not a ts.nor are most of the releases labled as such lately.

Pretty good film but not good enough to watch twice. good pic, audio a little dodgy in places but nothing too bad.

Posted by poppa on 09-04-2005 01:56 AM:

...

This is a really good TS. Def. worth a download if you can't wait. The movie is pretty good as well.

Posted by Midjet on 09-04-2005 07:42 AM:

Shouldn't it be nuked on the gounds of playing time?
It lasted all of 73 minutes when I watched it, according to IMDB it's an 85 minute movie!?

exactly.

i could give a fuck how it's labeled, as long as the quality is good. and the video on this isn't too bad at all. the audio is good too.

these same jerk offs are in CAM threads giving them thumbs up and 8's because it's "labeled" right and there's only a little hiss.

v: 8
a: 7.5 (little low, but theres a thing called a volume button).
m: 7
