i wanted sooo badly to see this in the theatre, but my internet bill has eaten up all my spending money.

i gave in and watched this version last night. Not too bad. Still would have like to have seen it in the theatre.

video - 7
audio - 7
movie - 8

The video is very dark in the darker scenes and very light in other scenes. It's a very heavy contrast. Someone walks past the screen at the end very briefly.

The audio is pretty good, but there were a few occasional digital distorting noises.

This is definitely watchable, but I really do regret not seeing it in the theatre. Some scenes just won't have the same impact.

If you are a diehard potter fan with no money. I strongly suggest waiting until you do. Go see this in the theatre.

If you don't care too much about the series, but enjoy them nonetheless, watch this version if you can't wait for something better.

As for the actual movie, probably the best one yet, but a few awkward pacing issues keep this at an 8.

I wanted to watch this in the theatre, but i'm too broke right now and x-mas looms.

I watched it last night.

Video - 7
Audio - 7
Movie - 8

Pretty good flick. Some awkward pacing issues and a few cheezed out moments, but overall, highly entertaining.

just read this on imdb :

Is Latest Potter Film Posted Online?

It remained unclear Monday whether Internet pirates had succeeded in breaching Warner Bros.' elaborate security defenses and posted copies of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Prior to the release of the earlier installments, there were numerous reports about poor-quality copies being posted online. Forbes magazine reported Monday that it had found 1,500 AVI and 500 MPEG versions of the movie available for download on peer-to-peer file-sharing sites. Nevertheless, a spokesman for Warner Bros. told the magazine, "We are 100% sure that these files you have found are not going to be of the Harry Potter film" -- a statement that suggests that the studio itself may have posted decoys in an effort to confuse -- or perhaps even trap -- illegal downloaders.

100% sure ................ heh

Posted by petrocs on 11-25-2005 03:44 PM:

interesting as the 1st CD and 3rd CD are fine..couple minutes into the 2nd CD is where it goes til the end..there's a pop in the audio and then bam...its about 2 seconds behind the actual speaking

Audio was good, but a few parts (which timemark I forget) had some slight issues.

The video was nearly perfect for me, considering the time it took to release it.

Movie was meh, after reading the book they left out way too much detail, but it's still worth seeing. Matter of fact, I'm heading out in 20 minutes to go see it again in the theatres!

Question for the people "In the know".
What happened with maVen's release? I heard something like their SVCD got nuked, but not their XViD?
