Grabbed this last night. Not a bad cam. Seen this with the kids at the Cine last night. This release will be NUKED SOON. I know 100% there's 10 minutes that were cut. The last 10 mins are missing. Credits were added it don't end when they ride to the lamp post. Any way here's my rating.
V - 7
S - 5
M - 9 Kids loved it. Overall not a bad cam. Shame the ending is missing.

decent no doubt very clear, just on the dark side even on daytime scenes...

6/4/?

The picture was dark, but easily fixed with VLC Media Players brightness.

The audio was hallow, but yet again it can be fixed with VLC Media Players audio settings.

I could hardly follow the storyline because the pic was really dark.Sound was also annoying, the hissing, and you could even hear the audience.Only for diehard fans, I guess.

4.5/4/6

The ratings for this seem to be inflated... first things first, welcome back WUF, nice attempt at this release. A little more refining, and you could have nailed it

Video has pixelation around color intersections (ie, no anti-aliasing), which gives everything a blocky look to it. Also, at the beginning, you can see people walking in front of the camera.

Audio isn't too bad, not hollow or anything, but definitely a hiss to it, but you don't notice it after a while.

My unbiased review:

4/5/?

Enjoy!

Thumbs up The Chronicles of Nania SVCD

I wasn't expecting much for the first release of the film but for a CAM and the first release i was pleasantly surprised. Its certainly watchable and not like a lot of the crap that gets released quickly after the films release.

V:6
A:6

I loved the book from when i was a kid so i'm biased really but i thought the film was excellent and true to the book. A big book is obviously condensed into a 2 hours 20 minute movie so you've gotta give them some slack on a movie,they have to give you the important bits and keep the story flowing nicely otherwise we'd end up with a 22 hour film i wish. That'll be one big download

TWAT FACTOR is in this movie btw.

really good for a cam cant much complain as I can see the picture and hear it so thats really all that matters

Posted by cherwonk on 12-11-2005 08:24 PM:

But of course you can hear the audience...it's a CAM. The twat factor shouldn't even come into play,as far as the video itself as mentioned on the dark side ,even on a stand alone. Audio is typical

As stated al bit dark though I find very watchable.
Audio is hollow indeed though understandable. Some hiss.

5/4/9.5

This has to be one of the best movies i've seen in a long time. So much better than the worthless lord of the rings movie and a great movie to make up for how pathetically horriable Harry Potter 4 was.

You can't anti alase a video source smart one. Anti Alasing is a technice used for polygon smoothing.

Video isn't bad. Its dark, with a slight flicker, but the audio is very distant and hollow.

from sample

Video: 6 - Quite Dark, Flicker, Kinda Blurred
Audio: 4 - Hiss in background, Music Clear but hard to hear Voices

Not a bad rls and entirely watchable, but i'll wait for a better one.

From what I know this has been nuked for 18mins missing before the credits. Can anyone else back this up ?

Posted by x23 on 12-11-2005 11:14 PM:

Eh, it's a cam with a bigger framesize. The flick is dark, and it is missing segments of the end, wehre it will occasionally jump scenes here and there. Decent copy for a first release, although a bit dark.

Vid=5.8
Aud=5
Mov=8

Posted by Wdad on 12-11-2005 11:25 PM:

It's an OK cam. None of the serious problems one tends to find, like bad AR or anything. The video is a little dim, and a little grainy, but nothing wrong with a cam being like that. It's a quick release, and judged as that, it's fine. Audio is good in most places, a quick skim shows it to be good and clear.

Somethings that really bugs me though is the missing footage, which I hate in a release. I havent seen this film yet, so I think I might see it in the Cine first, purely because of the missing bits. If you've already seen it, and cant be bothered to wait for the inevitable flood of releases to come, then there's no reason not to get this. Won't be a keeper, but good enough for the kids and mates.

6.8/6.5/?
