best release of the movie so far. Audio and video are above par for the 15 minutes I watched, couldnt sit through another screening of this average movie. Somebody should erase LOTR from Jackson's memories, he is suffering from a LOTR hangover. Pretty good popcorn flick for the teen crowd though, so no wonder it is getting rave reviews
//end of rant
8/7/4
Shame on Prodigy for calling this a proper, they streched it and played with the sound and messed up Asteroids TC. I carefully looked at this in VirtualDub and by resizing Astroids TC they blurred it. VCDQuality got it right by Nuking it. I'll stick with Asteroids Thanks!
Good Quality
V: 8.5
A: 8.5
M: 8.5
Thanks a lot for this
Happy new year
Alluro
Well I Just got this for the audio which i used with Asteroids/NBP's Video Source And Now i got a Nice Copy for myself and All In Sync
But anywayz the purpose of this release was for better audio...kinda surprise that Prodigy had found Direct Audio Cuz they have a hard time finding it for there releases
Video-8(Bad AR and Just sharpened The Pic from Asteroids)
Audio-9(Nice Direct And Better Than NBP's)
Movie-7

See No "The Rock" ??
Definitely the best release yet. So what if AR is slightly off. Most dvd players nowadays let you have whatever AR you want.
Video - 9
Audio - 9
Movie - 9
Watched this last night on my stand alone and 65" widescreen, didn't notice any ar issue, (used expand format on tv which might have helped). Out of all the releases so far, this has much better audio than any of them including Asteroids. The best one to get so far.
V-8 ( a little bright in places)
A-8 (best out of all releases)
M-9 excellent, better than I thought it would be.
Shame that it's been nuked. I understand scene rules, but good thing it's being propagated fairly well anyhow.
Definitely the best quality release. Does in fact have a slightly bad AR, check it on the univeral "earth" at the beginning, it's taller than wide. This certainly isn't noticable during playback. GSpot shows video of 608 x 256 which is 2.375:1
Video itself is decent for an hour and a hlaf per disc, but a bit bright and washed.
Audio is 2 channel (mp3) but very crisp, much more so then asteroids' which is windy and hissing. The only downside to the audio in this release is the lack of low bass. On a good system, the LFE channel doesn't slam when it should, which makes Kong's presence a bit diminished as compared with the theater's subbass, as it slams almost constantly in this movie.
Film itself is fantastic, although I'd have to say to make sure you see it on the big screen, it's worth it. or wait for the DVD if you have a good home theater. This one warrants a huge screen and a powerhouse system to do it justice.
