-- The Chronicles Of Narnia The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe *NTSC* - DVD SCR - FCiA (http://www.vcdhq.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=68052)
I've noticed nobodys mention this yet, but it's a widescreen release, encoding as a 4:3 Letterbox, which means to watch it on my widescreen tv, i've got to use the Cine mode. which loses some quality! Shame really!
wow!
Thankyou FCiA, great release!
Wow! And the watermark did little to bring down the overall quality of this fine release..
Video 9
Sound 9
film ? (watched 10%). looks interesting
Great Job, FCiA !
This did not deserve a Nuke maybe a reduction of a point for inaccurate nfo file
Not too bad. Watermark doesn't bother me. Good effort!
I didnt notice any sync issues??? and dont see this nuked for sync... It is finicky as skips a bit in my one dvd player and plays fine in another.. not sure why... but overall pretty good ( and no josh since im defending this release not being out of sync.. least i skimmed through about 30 minutes of it... im not fcia..)
Honestly this is an amazing copy....
For those who want a decent comparison....this ranks up there with the same type of quality of that Star Wars Ep III dvd "screener" that came out a while back.
amazing film
8.5/8/9
Go see this in the theater the first time you see it though.
I notice it has been nuked for "out of sync", no one has mentioned this, anyone watched it yet?
out of sync?
can anyone confirm this is out of sync? i have downloaded and was gonna watch over the weekend but i see its nuked now and nobody has mentioned it????
from waht ive seen
video 8 has green outline in some scenes
audio 8 seems fine from what ive seen from checking rars
movie n/a

Few issues with this release.
First: Why is it in the 1.85:1 (approx) aspect ratio and not the 2.35:1 ratio presented for the theatrical release. The cropping is mainly noticable (or affected) during the end credits when some of the names are cropped off.
Second: How is the video untouched? This obviously not a direct digital rip. It is some sort of digital > analog > digital capture (hence the green tints). So it may be untouched from the capture but it is definetly not the same quality as the ACTUAL DVDScr.
Some say the xViD is crisper and sharper. I downlaoad the samples on both xVid's and this is definetly much clearer/sharper/cripser/better in general.
So far haven't noticed any sync issues. Will update when done watching full release on standalone.
V:8 (green tint is not a big issue, watermark is only bad in the light, snowy scenes, not 2.35:1 original aspect.)
A:9 very good but not DD 5.1
M:9 Very good. Saw it in theatres a few weeks ago and downloaded the maven TS. I enjoyed it a lot.
.:EDIT:.
Watched full release. No sync issues at all.
Also while watching this I was just thinking about the aspect ratio. Is it possible that it was cropped on the sides to get rid of any actual serial or tracker other than the "7" (which I highly doubt is the tracker). Disney would present it in its original aspect or in full screen. Even if they did decide to crop it and make it 1.85:1 they would have definetly made it so that they credits are obviously cropped. They actual movie does not make a difference. Another possiblity is that if this truly is a Digital > Analog capture, maybe whatever was used to capture was on some default setting to show they film in 16:9 (therefore cropping the sides to show in 16:9 but keep a good AR) and therefore was captured that why. Sorry for rambling so much. I just really find it hard to believe that it would be presented this way.

im still somewhat confused over this release... albeit the fact that TCs are used for DVDscr sometimes.... The opening to this has a warning about copying in a cinema... not the usual copyright $250,000 thing.... the opening (while mostly black still) has obvious TC static... though this does have the watermark and a random occuring mark on the bottom left (which i would think would cause a bust more than a disney 7) This is a TC, im sure of it, but it seems to also have been distributed by disney for screening purposes making it a screener and if pressed to dvd... well, yeah... this is what you get... its all good, and very quick considering usual times between show vs scr... all in all this is a TC captured by disney before finishing of a master tape for screening purposes... i cant see it any other way...
In no way its out of sync, viewd the whole thing.

My Burnt Dvd's are my sig.
Iammyself, the reason this looks like it does is because its an analogue capture as the DVD couldnt be ripped onto a PC like normal.
Also Iammyself, the DVD that will be released of this and every other DVD you will ever find to buy or rent or download, is a Telecine, how else do you think it makes it from Reel to DVD.
This is a fine release, and is a DVD Screener, worst thing about it is the fact its 4:3 Letterboxed and 1:85:1 ratio, but good enough for this early, and definetly watchable.
8/9/?
