Beanz have you even watched this yet because it has the credit.
To this release so what are you on about

I speak French and what they're saying isn't a HUGE deal. You pretty much see what they're talking about anyway.

9.7.7

Not as good the second time around.

The picture was clear (if a little dark), sound seemed absolutely fine to me.

As for the subs, the film is definitely watchable without them but it does kinda ruin the experience. Saga seem to be the only bunch able to get UK releases so hopefully they'll do one of this. Its the only way we'll get english subs cos I don't reckon anyone will be bovvered to do their own cos the film IS watchable without.

well im not bothered like somone comment on what more do you want for free people will be wanting popcorn and icecream chucked in aswelli say like everyone else if you gunna moan and not give anyone the credit its due to this release then dont bother commenting on em ...

just hope now releases of silent hill / mi3 are due soon

You dont need the damn subs, except maybe totally anal people. 99% of the movie is in english, I understood the movie just fine without them and whoever else cant do so is obviously too thick to put one and one togeather to make 2! LOL, so to recap, this release is beautiful for those who have no trouble keeping up with a plot and not so good for the mentally challenged who need the 1-2 mintues of subs that are missing to understand the whole story. I cant fault this release and neither should anyone else, just take a quick look at all the TOTAL CRAP being released lately and as usual Pukka's standing strong.

8.5/8.5/10 [it takes a lot of guts to make and act in a movie that you know will inflame millions if not billions of people]

Posted by tArqueLL on 05-25-2006 01:04 AM:

to add to the debate, film length (from cinema just now..) 2 hours 20mins, from first glimpse of the grandpa running, to the roll (beginning) of the credits.

7/5/6

i really do think you need subs for this. thats why im rating audio low. as for the film, great use of special effects but pretty poor dialogue/character development...but a good story.

proper just been pred, but save yourself the hassle of d\l it again, and just d\l the subs, they are in sync to the pukka version on both disks and sound is better on pukka

V 8.5/A8.0/M10

I just watched in cinema and there are lots of subtitles for the French spoken segments, one helluva lot. There is quite a bit of latin as well.

First 30 mins of movie is based in Paris and 80% of dialogue is French, therefore subtitles are needed.

updated, added the dialouge from the flashback of silas childhood

english subs for this release using substation alpha and vobsub.

The KY version is missing the conversation between fache and collett and the beginning of cd2

Posted by Anno on 05-25-2006 03:57 AM:

CiEZ420, there are actually nearly 150 lines/captions of subtitles in this movie so to say that understanding or even not needing the subtitles is not exactly true.
To fully understand and to get the most enjoyable experiance from this flick (unless you understand french and latin) you most certainly DO need the subtitles.
There are still a few lines of subs missing from the subs pack but nothing much to worry about.

Release is fair. Not good for a TC but audio isn't too bad.
The subtitles are now availble so this release is OK with the .srts in place and make it fully understandable.

6.5/7/6

This is damn good! The audio is pretty loud and clear also. If it weren't for the russian subs, this would be the shit! Still, it really doesn't matter about the subs!

They speak ALOT of french in the movie which are subbed so people who dont speak french know what they are saying. Its part of the movie not something someone wanted to do out of shits and giggles.

Posted by neurotoxin on 05-25-2006 01:44 PM:

Surely with the added subs now this verson shouldnt be nuked?

I mean none of the other `ones` had the subs anyway, seems slightly unfair if you ask me. Is it one rule for one and another for someone else in the Pastures now?

sorry not directly related to commenting on the quality.

I've edited the SRT Subtitle files and updated them.
I've corrected the spelling errors, grammatical flaws and rephrased some lines.
I also took some additional lines from the
Vobsub sub version.
These new subs are much better .
