Save up money, buy an XBox, put XBMC on it, all formats = no disc changing.
Everybody wins.

Xbox + chip + wireless ethernet bridge + multiple PCs all over a house = best entertainment center.

And ORC, nice SVCD.. gets job done for those preferring the format.

I edited my post above horton, kindly read it.

OH, and one other thing: You forgot the little thing called "Shipping charges" because newegg doesnt ship for free. Sorry bud.

about the same as the xvid.....8/8/7 <---was ok .........i just bought a 50 case of cdr's at best b*y for 5.99 ......im not to worried about wasteing them.....but i have a dvd burner anyway....but my laptop also connects to tv via s-video......so im set to go.....anyone that doesn't want to pay the whole 20 cents on 3 cds should go buy the dvd for $25.00 when it comes out...or pay the 10.50$ at the theater.

Erm...Is the place ppl comment on quality of the release or fricking cd/r's?

The source is the same as maVen.....Damn!

Divx players suck (I have 3 of them), try a media server that's the ticket.

Oh yea...now you guys got me doing it lol, Grabbed this for my friends who have DVD players. Not a bad release;
V=8
A=7
M=7 I guess.

Can't wait to see the thread on hydro's Pirates lol.

Posted by iljs on 07-09-2006 03:02 AM:

WTF.

How retarded are you people. Clearly ORC / maVen now share sources, clearly ORC gives maVen audio, clearly the SVCD is ORC and XviD is maVen, clearly commas!!!

If you dont like SVCD JIZZ IN YOUR MOUTH, alot of sceners are POOR and dont have divx players. Stop trolling threads with useless shit about formats, vcdq is hardly the place.

Actually you are half right bout source sharing. maVen does xvid, ORC does SVCD, preVaiL provides the audio, but who cares. A bit dated but for SVCD best yet.

7.5= Tad grainy pic, to be expected with SVCD
8= Decent Sound recorded a bit high like Fast and Furious TD. Best yet.
9= Great movie, but tries too much to be like the Original.

Congrats to ORC, maVen, PreVaiL and any other crew that keeps it real and releases high quality homemade cams.!!

Look at you idiots guessing, tellling how this is done. Please stop the snithcing and stick to the movie review.

Posted by Iammyself on 07-09-2006 07:25 AM:

some of you people are funny, there needs to be a pimp smacking of this thread by the mods...

ORC seems to be learning somthing with maVen, encoding seems a bit better, xvid slightly better as to be expected, still dark though, all in all good for those SVCD lingerers, oh yeah, audio is nice also, The movie is well, umm, as I expected, but thats not much to say

Posted by iljs on 07-09-2006 08:41 AM:

k bear with me, im super wasted. Working on 1/2 a 60 of rum.

ORC and maVen are in "cohoots?" (Sp????) thats gotta be spelt wrong. Anyways, shutup you ugly trolls, live under a bridge.

ORC is all homemade, and maVen (forgive my early comments) apparently is too. This is not the place to "converse" on source stealiung and sharing and shit. Shutup and rate the release you anal but fuckinig nimtards.

Ill edit this 2 days from now when im sober if it doesnt make sense.

We ARE allowed to post opinions and comments here about *ALL* aspects of the release but NOT flame other users. Grow up.

Peeps like this guy should do some homework before posting, LOL.. First off quality depends on source. But XVID/DIVX is far far superior to svcd. svcd max res ntsc 480x480 blah.. divx has the capactiy for much higher resoltion, higher bitrates and is just far superior to svcd. Maven release is better but props to orc for bringing out the svcd, needed or not.

My 2 cents...

As far as the whole SVCD/VCD/Xvid/DivX/MPEG arguments go...

I personally will choose the Xvid/DivX first as long as it's encoded correctly.. Using CCE and upcoding to MPEG makes a damn fine DVD...

If the SVCD is good quality... then I enjoy take 2 or 3 of these and authoring a DVD without having to re-encode... It's nice to have 3 decent quality movies on 1 DVD with my own menu's, chapters, etc..

I have a Phillips DVD/Divx/Xvid player that cost $54.99 and it is great... I just bought 2 50packs of Sony DVD-R's at $14.99 apiece and 2 50packs of Fuji CD-R's for the same (for music)...

The DivX/Xvids are cool because you can throw 6 700mb avi's on 1 DVD and watch em' all...

This SVCD re-encode is good.. sound still not the best.. the 2nd hour should have been like the first...

Lightening up the original avi using avisynth filters works wonders...

just as good as maVen's rls(obviously same source), if you want divx get mavens, if you want svcd get this one. Simple as that, have a good time kiddies.

Hey asshole, Cdrs arent cheap here, not for the purpose they serve. Any store sells a 50 pack for anywhere from 10-15 dollars and hold 700 megs. dvdrs sell for 100 pack for 20 dollars and hold 7 times as much as cdr holds.
If you can add properly, that comes out to 20 cents a dvdr, worth 7 times as much as a cdr, and, lets say 50 pack is 10 dollars so you shut the fuck up, That comes out to 20 cents a cdr. Even if you get a 50 pack for 5 dollars thats still 10 cents a cdr...remember that dvdr is worth 7 times a cdr and costs 20 cents a piece. Now go watch your stupid reencoded svcd and have fun getting up to change cds halfway through. and leave the real format to me.
Blu-Ray? I will never have one in my home. Its the next beta-max.
And one more thing, you said that because the mvn one was 2 cds and the svcd is 3 cds...its still invalid. With an xvid player you dont have to get up and change the cd, hell with a ps2 you dont have to either. All you have to do is use your remote and select it, now piss off!

Over here CDs go on sale for about $16 per hundred, and DVDs are $30 per hundred (generally best buy has 50-paks for $15). I prefer DVDs because:

1) I can create nice little menus and everything to suit myself
2) I HATE switching discs. All CDs are good for is music, imo.
3) CDs aren't on sale every week like DVDs are, so DVDs are just as affordable.
