maVenssupplieR a scanner darkly has a great video if you are watching it on a 2" monitor or psp but as we all like to watch movies on are 30 to 40" tv the video is crap like the rest of maVenssupplieR copys they gets more out of focus the bigger screen you view it on

Richard Linklater used a less refined version of this technique in his movie Waking Life. Though this style has been around for decades, its now aided with the help of computers. I have been looking forward to this movie for about 5 years, since I first heard it was being made. Originally it was rumored to be a fully CG movie, and wouldve been one of the first. In the end, Im happy it turned out the way it did, and I encourage all to go see it.

I thought it's pretty cool, too. You should check out the movie Immortal if you like movies that cross reality with animation.

A) Some of us don't have 40" TVs. On my 27", it looks fine.
2) This is nowhere near the crap of their first releases. Much improved.
D) What do you mean, "Bring back the real maven"? I didn't know they left. It's only been a couple weeks since we got a release from 'em.

KVCDs tend to look better on a TV then on a monitor. Not sure why, it's just the way it is. Even so, it's an early cam so what do you expect?

V 6.5 - Decent quality for a cam. Burnt KVCD and watched on TV. Totally watchable.
A 5 - Somewhat hollow and dingy. Some audience noise.
M ? -Watching now.

Interesting movie, reminds me another drug comedy Fear and Loathing. But with a story. Video quality is subpar, but as it is the only release out and the artistic style does not demand too much clarity is does okay. Audio is fine.

Worth the time, check it out.

For a first release cam, ok quality to watch. Shot at a slight angle, and cammer's hand blocks screen a couple of times as someone walks by. Once or twice another walk by. If you had issues with the video, try adjusting your widescreen. It looked great on my 37" LCD (via network & Xbox), with a little brightness level (down) tweaking.
Sound ok, with audience laughter a number of times.
Movie was certainly like an animated comic book. That this was animated over live action, it was very different. But that was the only way the shapeshifter disguise suit could be done well. There is no problem telling which actors were playing which roles. Well done Philip K. Dick story.

Love those kind of movies that make you think about stuff. The animation made it all the more intense. The flicker? could be intentional due to the animation. Either way loved the film, Mavensupplier has come a long way since their first releases. Guess they finally got someone who could, and the right equipment.
