This is my most watched trailer EVER!
The 1080p trailer looks so fucking sexy.

cupid...
but the question is would you think a movie about a blind one legged buddhist lesbain(love it!!) be worse for you than 'crash'/'brokeback'
see that's the *exact* reason this movie *needs* to be made.

Enjoyed the trailer though. Found it very relaxing.
This is due for release this week ....I wonder will we get a decent release of it as quickly as we got one of Ghost Rider?
Only the cinema will do for this movie.
Even if a HD DVDrip was available on the day of release I would still go to the theatre to watch it first.

Yeah but is the US release ahead of over here in the British Isles? Its hard to wait when you know its sitting there waiting to be downloaded.
USA 9 March 2007
UK 23 March 2007
go figure...
Get Time (yeah I have to hold me nose when reading it) for free (have no clue why, guess one of my more "liberal" friends or family members might have got it for me for xmas, lol!) and this week issue had a nice article about this movie (or more so the director and how it was done):
Oneline article here: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/a...1595241,00.html
Looks like this could be the future of movies.

I think it looks great, but apparently the rating on rottentomatoes went from 100% last week to 59% this week after 17 reviews.

I was among the non-press people who got to see a pre-screening of this film in Los Angeles and it is unlike anything I've ever seen on film before. Stunning, awesome, amazing, incredible - the superlatives continue to flow as I think about the impact of this film. First, visually it is eye-popping and the kudos heaped on Zack Snyder are well-deserved. It is very artistic with a unique look but it is never cartoonish. This is a breakout film for Zack, and should also be for Gerard Butler as King Leonidas, catapulting him into the higher echelons of Hollywood royalty....

It's the narrative that lessens the movie.
Usually a narrative adds to a movie and holds together disjointed, non-linear, otherwise confusing parts, or adds clarity to cultural differences.
But this story doesn't need it. It's a fairly straightforward and simple-to-understand tale. It doesn't need the voice-over anywhere but at the beginning where we may not understand why they have their kids beat up/killed, or throw them into the wilderness to battle wolves. At times, just when I was submerging into the blood and limbs the voice would return and pull me from my immersion into the movie.
A still frame may need words to describe it, but when you have 25 frames per second (with sound) it shouldn't really need words.
Did we need to be told that the Persian empire was unleashing the beasts of Africa? Or that Xerxes was displeased with his generals...and that's why they were being beheaded?
How much sweeter would it have been for no voice-over and treating the audience as if they had intelligence? (But maybe the Yankistani masses do need the words...
)
I always like my movies to be true to their source...but a graphic novel is a graphic novel and a $100m+ movie is a $100m+ movie...
[It still kicks ass though
I'm a big chambarra fan (- samurai movies dickhead, not French farces -) and the swordplay and spears in here matches the best I've seen anywhere.
The slo-mo round the Immortals battle rocks!]
[And Lena Headey is lush
