8.5 Video is very nice, Depends what you class as a TC nowadays. But whatever you call it, I wouldnt mind all rlses looking like this

9 Audio was nice and bassy. i noticed NO
sync issues, streaming thru xbox. I think that theres a few VCDQ lemmings posting again.

8 Movie wasnt what i expected, nice twist and well worth watching.

Nice job Pukka\sceptic, keeping scene alive

A TC will come out washed out if its a poor quality machine or its not been setup correctly.
Its 140mins cause its PAL which runs at 1fps faster, 152mins ends up being about 145ish mins, its also missing most of the credits, which more than likely accounts for the other 5 or so minutes.
The Sync issues are always gonna be a problem on TC's these days as the audio is always from a diff source and sometimes differnt versions, and also cause DTS discs cant be used these days.
And after watching 40mins worth and flicking through CD2, i can't find any signs of excess cropping, and wont know unless i see a retail DVD of it, to compare, and see if it wasnt filmed like that.

i've now watched the whole movie, there are missing minutes,in cd2 at about 50 mins when ray winstone shoots himself and gets blown up there is a jump in the movie, also i thought cd1 had some missing footage

V 8 very watchable
A 8 there are sync issues but they ain't that bad
M 10 fracking brilliant!

TC or TS? If it's a TS then I wish they were all this good!

ps, the big black knob in the cinema scene is hilarious!!!

It's a mislabeled TS. It's cropped and has all the signs of a TS. Furthermore, the entire ending credits are not intact- another hallmark sign of a TS. Anyone who says it's a TC needs to go back and look at some of the recent Russian TC's like "The Covenant" or "You, Me, and Dupree."

actually those werent telecines either, those were russian dvdrips with cam audio put on them, crank was a tc tho imo,

I dont care where the source comes from as long as it is good. The video source on this is good. The audio sync problems seem worse on CD 1 especially the fist 45 mins.

V = 8
A = 5 Would have been higher but for poor sync (Quality good)
M = 10 Great for action and violence

does this audio needs to be send to a WAV file like Miami Vice did?

so.. you were out drinking... and you left all those "ladies" to come on your pc? ok..

Anyway, had a quick skip through..

VIdeo - 7
Audio - 5 ( because of the sync issue's, audio itself is really great. )

Can't wait for the REPACK

Posted by STB on 10-16-2006 01:28 AM:

Not completely sure its a TC..but it looks real nice...noticed a couple of times in the movie where it looks almost like the film shifted to the right then back..wierd..but overall very nice release

V - 8
A - 8
M - 8

if you knew anything about anything, you'd be aware that film runs at 24fps, pal video runs at 25fps... so in a pal telecine, the film is played one frame per second faster (so as not to introduce flicker). this doesn't create new frames.

the only hypothesis in this thread is yours.

p.s. this looks shit for a telecine - but there's no motion blur, so I'm not going to doubt it. I'm also not going to spoil this movie by watching all of this rls. 6/6/?

Posted by Neversoft on 10-16-2006 02:30 AM:

Is this a good TC? Not really
Is this a TC? Probably not
Would this be a good TS? Yes
Is this release watchable? Yes

... In other words, shut the hell up arguing over semantics and just watch the fucker, you ladies give me a headache!

V - 6 (rated as a TC)
A - 8 (not noticed any sync issues in VLC)
M - Not watched it yet but it sounds pretty spankin'

Took a better look at it, and must say I'm also beginning to doubt if it truely is a TC.
In case it really is a mislabled TS, the leet nfo is just plain stupid.

Its not hypothesis, its fact.

Since your not getting it, im will make it simpler to understand.

A 152min movie running at 24fps will have 218880 Frames of video.
You work that out by taking 24fps and mulitplying it by 60, to find out how many frames are in a minute, which is 1440, then multiply it by 152, which is the runtime of this Movie

So 25(framerate) x 60(seconds in a min) x145.92 (PAL runtime) = 218880

So around 146mins, chop off the credits, and then its none or very little of the movie missing.

Damn, i really shouldnt post drunk and full of Caffeine, that looks uber geeky.

this ant that bad of a release but there is sync issues it's the same auido from maven supplier, i'm just guess too. V-7 A-6 M-10 i think it was a good flick.

Posted by johnnycage on 10-16-2006 02:51 AM:

not the best, but blatanly a tc.

Posted by gamer812 on 10-16-2006 04:39 AM:

6/7/9

I didn't noticed any sync issues either. Video a bit washed out. Sound hollow like everybody said but decent. Great movie.

umm you know its a remake right? All scorsese did was direct a remake.
But ok, he did a good job credit where credit is due.

Your not a member of pukka by any chance are you? LOL
Its not a case of what you 'class' as a TC
A TC is a feckin TC and a TS is a feckin TS.

Please READ THIS

Lets say you asked for coffee, and got a cup of tea instead.
How would you describe (rate) that cup of coffee?

im not 100% on the setup of a TC machine
but checkout CD2, 0:31:49
It looks like a cam shift or re-frame
and again at 1:06:25

also a small bit is edited out at 0:31:37

i say its a cut as there's no cigarette burn like there are in the rest of this and its not a very clean one.

check it out for yourselves.

audio-8
video-9
movie-10

excellent flick, watched it at the theatre before grabbing this rls. thanks pukka

Posted by petethemanc on 10-16-2006 12:19 PM:

Ive checked this all the way through and its looking less and less like a TC. As with septics release they look at best a TS. Why why misslabel?

A 5
V 5
M 10 imo the best film of the year so far.
