That'd be because, at least for the original Star Trek, it's "to go where no MAN has gone before".

By virtue of them in most instances meeting alien races they meet the promise on the tin.

Looking forward to this one, seen most of the other Star Trek films and episodes though I am not a Trekkie

Dissapointed when they shelved Enterprise but maybe the new cast will get the franchise going again

Here you can download the new bootleg trailer for this movie (the one before the new James Bond). I wish this guy would CAM movies! He looks to have a fantastic cam!

Star Trek 11 sound they are extending to much.
They should tag this with S01E11 when they release it. This movie is running more like a series than a movie.

I guess they will be keep pumping this movie out. Never saw a movie with so many sequels.

Star Trek movies are all stand alone movies though, no cliffhanger endings or unanswered questions. Just like Bond USED to be. Daniel Craigs Bond has turned into a series, I hope this Star Trek doesn't follow suit.

Not a massive trekky but looking forward to seeing this,

Good point. As I have seen many Bond films.

As Cupidstunt says I think it is more likely that the new Star Trek movie will be continues, seems like every movie nowadays falls in the the "continues" stage and often most of them becomes trilogies.
