i'm afraid hes right guys,

As you can see from this line (faint line) that is visible throughout the sample.avi (still leeching the rest)

Not for one second taking away the fact that this is the BEST TC I've seen for a LONG TIME.
better than all them 'so called' R5 releases of late.
So don't think I'm crapping on the release or quality for one second.
Its MINT, however it is also mislabeled and sadly should
be nuked as such, allowing for a real DVDscr in the future and not a PROPPER

Neptune, This is the best TC for months you should be proud.
the quality alone makes me overlook the mislabel
keep up the good work, (but watch the labels)

My shitty screen grab dose the picture quality no justice at all.
Its just to illustrate the line, i know there's a proper name for it...
but either way, its not an artifact you associate with DVDscr's
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h..._Daily/grab.jpg

Are you kidding me? I don't see a friggin line! It's quality is sublime on my tv so I don't see a problem with it!

Arthur... maybe it would be a good release if it wasnt just a re-encode of the DVDR on p2p.

Still though, decent quality of course. 9/8/*

LOL

a re-encode, doesnt create that sort of artifact.
*Vertical line or 'scratch' (i swear there's a proper name for it)
static over moving image*

Its a Telecine and a dam fine one at that.

Looks like a p2p reencode, np idea if dvdr was 'R5' or TC but it's good quality

7/8/8

What artifact ? There is nothing in your pic or in the sample. I suggest you invest in new gear, Arfur. Get Tel to drop off some stuff at the lock up

rating as a dvdscr

v = 8
a = 9
m = 7 dont know expected to much maybe

i've looked for the artifact that arthur daily mention but i cannot see it, the untrained eye and all that, but if its a tc then its the best i've ever seen!

Posted by fireman911 on 03-21-2007 08:50 PM:

jeps TC, a very nice one , but still a tc
why the hell you tag this as a dvdscreener, you must be proud on this TC !

for tc:
V:9 (very nice!)
A:6 (its direct but to lowly recorded)
M:9

Do you see artifacts too ? What makes you "goota" believe this is a TC ?

Posted by VonRashniek on 03-21-2007 09:07 PM:

Arthur, I'm not disagree'n with ya, cause generally you know ur sh*t.
But I'll be dammed if I can see the line(artifact) your talking about. Heh I must be gettin old,,,lol.
I've seen the line which you refer to on other movies. Like I said I'm not scumming you down, I just don't see it.
I believe the line you are referring to is usually corrected by DNR when they go from film to digital, although I may be wrong. DNR is usually used to correct film grain, electronic noise of the telecine, comb filter artifacts in composite video sources, film speckles, dirt, scratches etc... So we don't see them.
So if your seeing the line, then you probably are correct in saying it's a pretty damned sweet TC.
In rating this as a TC you gotta give it high 9's
Either way this is most watchable copy out there, and I doubt there will be better for awhile.
2cents

I was content with the Workprint and then this comes along. Both releases are keepers, Workprint for the obvious reasons and this also for the obvious reasons ha. Pic is excellent but could be sharper and looks too dark. As for the sound, nice and loud.

V-8
A-9
M-?

v:9
a:8
m:7

pretty good movie, certainly a visual experience, short on story and such, but a fun time. video is great, audio is nearly as good, touch of loud parts for me and a bit of static but quite nice.
